Re: Recording Moogs

I process my Minitaur using Moogerfoogers MF102, 103 & CP-251 (etc) and run a mono output through a Golden Age Projects PreQ-73 (Neve clone) pre amp. On occasion, I like to fatten the sound some more using the 2x shelving EQs the GAP PreQ-73 provides. My preferred recorder of choice is a Zoom H4...

Re: Minitaur LFO sync to Ableton

Reading some of the Ableton forum posts and historically it looks like Ableton has a weakness with its Midi clock. If you haven't done so already, maybe jump over there and ask around?

Wish I could be of more help.

Re: Minitaur editor - new features missing

This is a copy of a reply I left on a similar thread, very apt to use it here: The addendum (2.2) to the manual that ships with the new update illustrates a bunch of key combination/shortcuts which use the "Glide" key in tandem with EG Decay, VCO Freq, LFO rate and more to access a lot of ...

Re: Minitaur LFO sync to Ableton

I think you need to be looking into using Minitaur as a "slave" to Ableton's midi clock. I dont use Ableton for this, I use Maschine 2 instead. There should be an option (somewhere) in Ableton to "send master clock" or similar. maybe Jupiter can advise further? Good luck.

Re: What about the new updated Editor/Librarian? does it wor

schpinn wrote I can't figure out where some of the new features are located (like filter/amp EG delay and hold). You can access them through the synth itself, but not through the editor (as far as I can see) Firstly, the new Editor is flawless for me too. The addendum to the manual that ships with t...

Re: Minitaur LFO sync to Ableton

Are you using Ableton's "External Instrument"? Unfortunately I can't screenshot for some reason, but my set up is like this: External Instrument - MIDI To Minitaur Out Channel 1 Audio From - No Input MIDI Channel - MIDI From Minitaur - All Channels - Audio To (Separate Audio track routed f...

Re: The "next preset" does not work on the Minitaur

The "next preset" or "previous preset" does not work on the Minitaur This switch combination works just fine on my Minitaur, no problems. Firstly, the software needs to be connected to the hardware via USB for full functionality and hardware control. I would try another USB port...

Re: Where Do I Go From Here?

Hi Exerda , I've just bought a second-hand Future Retro Orb sequencer from eBay and should receive delivery tomorrow. After spending some time with the Sq-1, which I like, I came to learn that I needed more functionality especially pattern recall and saving. It looks like a whole lot of fun! I'm awa...

Re: Minitaur playing double notes

Have you tried looking at MIDI Echo within your signal flow? Try disabling the "Echo MIDI" option in the Minitaur software. Failing that; look to disable MIDI Thru on your devices if your using it.

Re: Struggle to setup Ableton Live 9 with Moog Sub 37

I use Ableton with my Minitaur rig. Looking at the images of your set up I think the problem could be with how the "External Instrument" is configured. There are 2 stages that I have configured on the External Instrument: 1. - MIDI To Minitaur Out (your case Sub 37 or equivalent) 2. - Audi...

Re: Where Do I Go From Here?

Too late to recommend the Doepfer Dark Time, though if you wanted to keep a small desktop footprint, the Mother-32 (or a couple of them) might keep you going for awhile. Hi EricK. I did look very seriously at the Doepfer Dark Time sequencer. It definitely fits the bill and looks like the dream tick...

Re: CP-251 Additional 9V Insert Socket Missing?

Phew! That's reassuring, although I'm totally hopeless with anything involving DIY electrics - but at least I know that it can be sorted. Panic over.

Thanks for letting me know. :)

CP-251 Additional 9V Insert Socket Missing?

This is a quote from a SoundonSound review of the CP-251 going way back to 2002: "Usefully this box of tricks can function on its back or standing tall, in which case the power plug can be inserted in a second 9v socket on the base plate , a thoughtful design touch." After close inspection...
