Re: Moog Modular Expansion & Power Requirements
First, I recommend looking at Dave Brown's Modular Synthesis site: https://www.modularsynthesis.com/moog/moog.htm He has some great photographs of some Moog modular restorations he's done with other useful information. On this page, he details making a Dot Com cabinet adapter. https://www.modularsy...

Re: Moog Modular Expansion & Power Requirements
I would also be sure to refurbish the 930 to make sure that it is in peak operating condition. I created a blog post about the process with pictures when I did mine, and you can find it at synthguy.com. Looking at the service data for the 930 just now, I see that when properly calibrated, it can su...

Moog Modular Expansion & Power Requirements
Hello all, Playing with the idea of futuristically adding a third upper cabinet of 22MU of modules, all moog, similar to something like this, so I know its possible(not practical :D ): https://moogfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/Boddicker-Epilogue-2.jpg Mine would be some combo of a 960 sequencer,...

Re: Moog Grandmother as Moog Modular Controller
Yeah, I think it'll be a great tool in the arsenal! What's your modular setup like? What would you like to do with the Grandmother? Only downside I can think of (if you consider this one) is the cables needing to all be 1/8" to 1/4" conversions to interconnect from Grandmother to Modular. ...

Re: New Voyager XL only plays C4?
Hey uxumuxo, Hope you've already figured this out, if not, I'd also recommend making sure your Voyager XL is up-to-date with the most recent firmware. This can be found on Moogmusic.com and you can follow your manual instructions to make sure its done properly.

Re: 901 vs. 921
I can say with confidence that the issue has not been resolved in the new reissue units. Are there reissued 901's...? I thought all the reissue's contain the 921's...!? Hey Noddy, Definitely yes! Recently (Aprilish 2017?) Moog reissued the IIIC which contains all the 901 oscillators - nine 901bs an...

Re: 901 vs. 921
The waveforms on the 901 are more distorted. The rising/falling edges of the square waves are slower, the slope of the ramp is more curved, and the triangle has a slight discontinuity in the peaks due to the UJT used in the waveshaping circuit. The audible differences are subtle but they are there....

Re: Moog Modular with MIDI
I just ended up buying a Subsequent 37cv in order to control parameters on my model 15 and iiic via usb-midi so it can line up with my DAW clock. I'd rather put the money towards another synth with controlling capabilities than a midi-cv box... just my two cents, however. I am no expert, it just wor...

Re: Sub37 CV Duopitch Out
I too would like to know the answer to this. I would love to connect CV one and CV two into separate frequency banks on my modular gear to play independent pitches in duophonic mode

Sequencer Compliment B Chords
I have been trying to locate the answer to this for weeks now, but it doesn't seem clear. Can the Sequencer Compliment B, more specifically a single 960 sequential controller, trigger all three rows simultaneously to produce an 8-step chord of sorts if different pitch cv was being sent out to separa...

Re: Model 15 hum
Hello, Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I'm a first-time Moog modular owner. I've just turned on my Model 15 for the first time, and there's a very noticeable hum. Is this normal? Thanks for any insight! If it makes you feel any better, I also had the same "issue" when mine ar...

Re: Voyager XL as Model 15 Modular Controller
Hi thedangore, I’ve learned that a real fundamental approach to accessing/controlling the 911 EG’s on the Model 15 as controlled by the Voyager XL is to first do as EricK suggests and contact Roger at synthesizers.com and purchase 1 (is sufficient) 1/4 in. voltage to S-trig cable… - I bought a coup...

Re: My Moog 15 order question
Hey elsapo2001, I think it all depends on who you ordered from and what they have in stock or not. I purchased mine from Sweetwater (#110), which they had in stock at the time of purchase. It was shipped in a matter of days. My understanding is that the manufacturer (Moog) has already completed maki...
