Re: Synth repair in Los Angeles?????!!!

Kevin, those of us who have sustained severe injury fully understand where you are now and for the last few years. My wife and I are planning a trip to LA next summer, hopefully BK will be around. If so I'd luv to meet up with you and take you out for dinner just as an appreciation for all that you ...

Re: Should Roland and Korg get back in the analog market?

I'm looking fwd to see where the Monotron leads to with Korg\s future synth development. I would also like to see both companies mkt. research as to who the typical buyer of their synths are - price point, features and main use. We on these forums are likely not the avg. synth buyer. Anytime I've be...

Re: Voyager VS Model D : Compare and Contrast

I bought my miniD in '74, I bought an AE with the idea of retiring the old gal, kept the AE for a few years and ended up selling it. A wonderful feature rich synth, if I didn't already own a miniD I would still have it, but I just preferred the D. I am sure that many others will prefer the Voyager w...

Re: If you had to buy a Poly today?

You said you wanted warm pads/resonant strings sound any particular artist/song that you could post would also help in getting advice. I have a P08 (with new encoder boards gratis from DSI) that basic sound you described can easily be achieved moreso in 4 pole mode than 2 pole as was previously stat...

Kevin, I feel for you - I know that you have worked yourself into a state of poor health - back problems are hell. How are things progressing with your back - I get to see BK usually once per year when The Who are out or this past Nov when he was with Roger, and I keep meaning to ask him how you are...

If you do opt for p 08 I woulkd recommend you getting the PE version over the encoder vers. I have one with encoders and will be giving it the 2nd shot of deoxit since last August. It is an excellent synth just remember that unlike the A6 it has no built in fx. I am looking at buying a Tetra to add ...

Even before I joined this forum a number of years ago, one person's name that always came up was Kevin's. I would highly suggest that anyone with a Moog or other vintage gear call Kevin first!

If DSI can come out with their new Tetra4, MM will hopefully come up with their own version to be used with the V or LP.

yes, the bottom screws are the right ones - I had a Source for quite a few years and opened it up a number of times, I would look to replace the battery while you're at it if it is the original.

I am in the same boat as the original poster as playing live I just haven't found what I want and he described it perfectly. In fact after trying out some of the newer components on the mkt. I just gave up and bring a macbook along all the while hoping it doesn't somehow fail. I will get back on my ...

Who sells it for $479? Couldn't find it online.... Since I have the JV Vintage Synth card, I will probably at some point get a JD-990. $479 from the SE site (its under pedals), you won't regret getting a JD-990. It only has one expansion slot but I find it blows my JP-8080 away. For those who don't...
