Re: DIY Midi Cables 3 or 5 wires?

Any wire will do the job. No need for fancy audio or screened cable. Simple bell-wire will do :D
True enough. :)
My primary reason for using high quality cable for MIDI is for robustness.

Re: Voyager Custom Expansion Panel

I just got off the phone to Taylor in tech support and he was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. Wonderful support. A big thumbs up! 8) I'll be getting started on the design and prototyping for my custom panel shortly and will post updates here (as long as it is acceptable by Moog to p...

Re: Voyager Custom Expansion Panel

Does anyone know if there is a direct email address for someone in Moog tech support that I could send my requests about my custom expansion panel ideas to? My previous message was sent via the Moog website but I don't know if it was received.

Re: DIY Midi Cables 3 or 5 wires?

Is there a brand/source you use for your cable? I haven't gotten around to creating the Midi cables yet so I still need to buy the mic cable. Thanks Pretty much any good quality mic cable will work. Canare make decent cable that is very robust. This one would work well.... http://www.canare.com/Pro...

Re: Mogue!!

Bob pronounced it 'Mowg'. It's an old Dutch name and should be more correctly pronounced (according to Bob) 'Mough' with a soft 'gh' at the end. He said even some of his family pronounced it differently, and that he didn't care much about the pronunciation, but preferred 'Mowg'. See https://www.you...

Mogue!!

Does anyone else fall into the trap of pronouncing it Moooog instead of Mogue from time to time? For years, when I first got into writing and recording synth music in the 80s, I pronounced Moog as Mooooog until someone corrected me one day. Even now though, when I'm discussing synths with friends, I...

Re: DIY Midi Cables 3 or 5 wires?

Here's what the Midi Spec 1.0 says about MIDI cables. MIDI Spec Cable.png They show the cables having only two conductors, inside the shield. Yep. In all the years between the 80s and now, I've never come across any MIDI gear that doesn't work with my twin core + shield cables. I use high quality b...

Re: Voyager Custom Expansion Panel

You can also tune the 5th for oscillators 2 and 3 and the LO range of the Osc 3, I don't remember right now which trimmers are those, but I can tell you, they make a great difference! I read about that in some of the topics I found about tuning the Voyager but didn't find any details about the proc...

Re: Voyager =/= Model D

These two so often get compared, but what I like about my Voyager is that it is so unlike any other synth, probably including the D (though I've never played one). The strengths of the Voyager - its modulation options, its third osc which can work as another modulation source, its extremely round, ...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Hi everyone. This is my second post (first is a new thread that is awaiting moderation). After 30 years of collecting, playing, recording and modding synths, I finally have a Minimoog and LOVE it! In the background is my Roland System 100 synth and System 700 sequencer. http://stash.reaper.fm/28665/...

Voyager Custom Expansion Panel

Hi everyone. This is my first post here. I recently sent an email to tech support (about a week ago) but haven't heard a reply back yet so I figured I'd post my message here in case it wasn't received (I used the Moog website form to send the message). Here's my message: Dear Tech Support, I have ju...
