Re: Individual Modules

well the solution seems obvious: send an email as "Kanye West" and maybe you will get your custom module?

Re: how do I send sysex command to Grandmother to change a parameter ?

ah, you might have better luck asking on a Logic forum then, as it's a DAW configuration issue

Re: Minimoog reissue pitch wheel, broken?

stress from the screw that holds it onto the pot below, very common on vintage as well as resissues

I pulled mine apart & dribbled some krazy glue into the crack: carefully put it back, not overtightening the screw

pretty neat!!

during COVID lockdown if I were stuck in a room full of gear like that, I could stay occupied :D

Re: Introduce yourself

Hi Khal Drogo

Congratulations on the XL, I have one too, and am still figuring out ways to use it

I'm glad Moog reissued the D, as now we can appreciate the Voyager for what it is, rather than what it isn't

lots of good resources here if you use the search function

Re: Voyager XL as a MIDI gate interface, for Modular CV sync?

nope. As you said, no CC's at all specified for the Touchscreen parameters I did find a useful thing about LFO1 though: page 30 explains you can slow down ( or speed up ) the LFO beyond it's normal range by putting -5v to +5v into the LFO rate CV jack.....results can be slower than 1 cycle per minut...

Re: Voyager XL as a MIDI gate interface, for Modular CV sync?

one other thing I saw in the Voyager manual, under "Touch Surface LFO S&H: In Use": "when an external control voltage (CV) signal is applied to the S&H gate input on the Voyage back panel, it overrides the LFO as the S&H clock. This configuration allows you to clock the TS...

Re: Voyager XL as a MIDI gate interface, for Modular CV sync?

ah, I must have misread the Voyager screen menu options! I thought it was displaying midi cc values for the touch screen parameters, but it's not: it's displaying the cc values of the touchscreen target objects. whoops. re: LFO voltages: I posted in a Moogerfooger thread with this, but here are my m...

Re: CP-251 maximum voltage output?

Here are some results from the Voyager XL patch panel attenuator, which should be the same circuitry based on internal LFO's: LFO1: square wave, base voltage range: 0v to +3v amount ranges: +5: 0.34 v to 3.2 v 0: 0.27 v to 0.34 v -5: -0.34 to -2.54 v offset range: max: 5.41 v to 8.26 v min: -2.08 v ...

Re: Voyager XL as a MIDI gate interface, for Modular CV sync?

well here is something interesting: I hooked my multimeter probes up to the LFO outputs:

LFO1 square wave range was 0v to +3v
LFO2 square wave range was -5v to +5v

so that likely explains having to mess with the attenuator settings

Re: Saving a patch. An all time low?

That sounds pretty cool!

The latest Voyager software has improved patch saving quite a bit: hit master menu now & it's right at the top

Thanks Rudi!!

Re: CP-251 maximum voltage output?

Hmm I have been experimenting with a MIDI sync'd Voyager feeding gates to a dotcom Q960 sequencer & Q107 envelope generators, and found I need to boost the LFO square wave to +5 on the attenuator to get it to work decently. This must be related. I will measure the voltage outputs & post here...

Re: how do I send sysex command to Grandmother to change a parameter ?

What DAW are you using?

I need to figure out something similar with my Voyager; researching how to send MIDI CC commands from Reaper to the synth. If I get it working will post results

Re: Voyager XL as a MIDI gate interface, for Modular CV sync?

I wonder if you could just tap into the Voyager and add a MIDI clock output to the patch panel/CP251?

Re: Voyager XL as a MIDI gate interface, for Modular CV sync?

If I can get Reaper to send a tempo MIDI CC gate signal to the Voyager touch screen, that would be the cats ass.

The touch screen has a gate out that I could use, and free up an LFO

Not sure if that's even possible though.
