Sweet water was able to get in touch with Moog and they have determined that I received a defective model. Sweetwater is going to exchange it with free return shipping and honor the demo model price tag on my replacement.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm sure I'll get my hands on a D one way or another. I'm just one of those weirdos that feels a sacred connection in imprinting your musical talent on a virgin instrument.
