Re: Prodigy - no sound from oscillator 2

Thanks for your help. I’ll check the switch first. I don’t have a scope, so I might have to invest in one. I’ve got a starting point now. Thanks again.

Prodigy - no sound from oscillator 2

Hi folks,

A friend of mine asked me to look at his Prodigy. I found that there is no output coming from oscillator 2. When I switch the waveform I hear some crackling, but otherwise nothing. Does anyone know if this is an easy fix?

Thanks in advance.

Re: New member with new Sub 37...problems :(

I really do appreciate your input. I considered a Sub Phatty as this seems to be prone to fewer problems than the 37. This is purely based on what I have seen on this forum. I can get a Phatty for about 40% less than the 37. It has been my 'dream' to own a Moog for many years, but I'd rather have a...

Re: New member with new Sub 37...problems :(

Right now I am seriously considering getting something like a re-issue MS-20 or Odyssey, maybe even a Bass Station 2. I know that these are 'inferior' synths, but if I'm not going to get the longevity at least I won't be spending a fortune. I don't earn a lot, so this is a major purchase for me and...

Re: New member with new Sub 37...problems :(

Well, the new 37 has arrived. None of the issues I had with the first one, but..... one of the preset buttons was hanging out, after pushing it back in and giving it a wiggle it seems to be ok, also another one of the preset buttons needs to be pressed MUCH harder than the others to make it work. I...

Re: New member with new Sub 37...problems :(

I do not buy gear very often. I hope / expect that when I buy a new piece of kit, that it will give me years of trouble free service. My Korg X-3 is over 20 years old, my SR-16 is a similar age and my Microkorg is getting on a bit now, but (fortunately) I have not had any problems. My concern with a...

Re: New member with new Sub 37...problems :(

The dealer has offered to get me another replacement, but they have to wait for the next batch to arrive in the country....... I am seriously considering a Sub Phatty instead. A simpler synth, less to go wrong??????? :(

Re: New member with new Sub 37...problems :(

I have the same problem with the volume knob. It crackles on the lower third. It is very annoying because I use the volume a lot when playing out. I don't think it is oxidation... then the noise usually disappears after twisting the knob. The crackling remains no matter what I try. I wonder who fix...

Re: New member with new Sub 37...problems :(

Blueshound, I hope the new one is serving you well. Was the cracklkng in the earphone or line out? I had the same issue with intermittent crackling in the earphone jack from the one I bought in November and so did they other people on this thread: http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=...

Re: New member with new Sub 37...problems :(

I hear you about the problems with your sub 37. Some other people have had problems also but one thing to mention is that Moog will make it right with you and the sub 37 is a hell of a synth. I've had mine about a year and it is just growing on me more and more over time. It is not a disappointing ...

Hi,

Sadly, I don't think so, as all signal was lost switching into 'panel' mode, but it did sound like it could have been that sort of issue when just playing the presets.

Re: New member with new Sub 37...problems :(

How is it now? Any more problems? Hi, I was away for a few days over Christmas, and I have only tried it briefly since I got back yesterday. The initial problems I encountered don't seem to be present, but I did notice that the bank seemed to be changing rather than the preset (without the bank but...
