I'm going to go ahead and say I think this is probably normal operation. Mine behaves exactly as described in the original post. If you're putting an oscillator in to a 50 cycles filter though, you're basically filtering out the notes (except for truly subsonic stuff) then cranking a load of gain in ...

Glad it's not just me then! It just feels like a conflict from two sources (plugin & DAW) trying to read/write MIDI to the same physical port. I wonder if plugging up "real" MIDI at the same time as USB MIDI would help in some way...?
Maybe the Plugin could communicate on USB for visual feedback ...
