Re: Share your synthesizer music!

Didn't see this thread when I first posted, so I'm moving it here: I'm starting to get the hang of my Mother 32 and my Beatstep Pro. No great shakes, but this is my first proper song, methinks. Also used my slim phatty, addictive drums, and a slew of pedals, including the MF-104M. Hope you enjoy! ht...

Re: First Recorded Doodles w/Mother & SP

Good sounds and a clean, spacious mix. The character of the Mother shines through. Perhaps a bit too much going on with different sounds that don't sit easily together but I realise you're just experimenting with the Mother's capabilities. I liked it :D Thanks, Stevie Ray! Definitely a lot going on...

Re: First Recorded Doodles w/Mother & SP

Much appreciated, Vsyevolod! I'm a long-time guitarist now getting into synths, and I have no idea what I'm doing, but it's a blast. I think the clean sound has to do in part with the TC Electronics Arena reverb: it really seems to brighten up the sound, and make it louder. I think it's probably buf...

First Recorded Doodles w/Mother & SP

This one's essentially just the Mother 32 with an Arena reverb, an MF102, an MF105M and, doing most of the work, an MF104M: https://soundcloud.com/soulmanure/synthetic This one's the M32 along with my SP, and a few pedals: https://soundcloud.com/soulmanure/synth-12_1 No great shakes, but the thick t...

Re: MF Drive dead already

I'm having this problem now as well. I contacted customer service, but haven't gotten a response--they're probably working pretty hard, especially with the mothers landing. In any case, it happened to me a while back with my drive--just wouldn't start up, and this is with the proper Moog power suppl...

Re: Noob Question: CP-251 vs. Mother-32

I have from the start decided against the rackmount solution as well as putting my foogers permanently on my pedalboard. I view them almost as independent instruments. And tearing the sides of one to make it fit is a punishable offense in my view  . Also, when jamming with friends, it's nice t...

Re: Noob Question: CP-251 vs. Mother-32

Hey Kirneh Ness, I considered doing a rackmount situation, which would cost about two hundred, and would be awkward in my situation. Then I measured my wife's laptop stand and realized that it would be perfect, and quite a bit cheaper. It holds precisely three foogers, is adjustable, and, according ...

Re: Noob Question: CP-251 vs. Mother-32

Just an update--it took a couple of months to get one, but I finally did, and it's a blast, particularly with the foogers. I'm trying to figure out ways to really get it to work with my slim phatty, and I'm realizing I'll need a lot more cables, which is great fun. Thanks again for the help! 2016012...

Re: Noob Question: CP-251 vs. Mother-32

Yeah, be careful, sometimes it's more fun than making actual music ;) I've gotten to the point where I just own the fact that I like tinkering with the gear, sometimes more so than making new tunes. I went into synths with this as a key goal. I like looking at them like they're some sort of spacesh...

midilifestyle,
You not only answered my question, you taught me quite a bit. I thank you humbly!

And I've definitely decided: the mother ship will land before the cp.

Re: Noob Question: CP-251 vs. Mother-32

Thanks a million, Stuka! That actually helps me a lot . I do have a Korg SQ-1, but it seems a bit limited in terms of its uses. I also like the idea of having two synths. I can't afford both at this point, but I also love the idea of future expansion for the mother-32 as well as syncing them both to...

Noob Question: CP-251 vs. Mother-32

Hey All, This is my first post here, though I've read many posts. So, I have a question coming from an absolute beginner (well, I've been at it for a couple of years, but it's all still new to me). I have a slim phatty, mf-104, mf-102, and mf-105. I want to expand the sonic options and am debating b...
