Not quite MiniMoog but nearly.

It’s about a MIDI DAC VCA module based faithfully on the Minimoog circuits.
This is a module by AJH synths and I have two however one has started to leak an audio signal even with all controls set to off.

AJH told me it’s probably one of the Trim pots breaking down ...

Let’s say I wanted to morph a saw wave into a square wave on every note keyed,
(Not sequencer etc )
The way I do this now is to use two separate patches …saw and square each one OSC -CP3- FILTER -( VCA controlled by 911 with 911a delay)
Only one patch ...

Many thanx C for detailed explanation and not what I expected . I think it’s the morphing trick that got my ears as I’ve been looking to achieve this a long time.
I’ve tried with EG’s and 911a etc using different adjustments but it never quite works.

Nice little video of your Oberheim sounds. Can you tell me what the sound Brass 1 is ? (At about 0.40 ) ? I think it’s two timbres ? …how was it done ?

I cannot find much about delayed / fade in vibrato apart from the general description.

I know the Attack on the 911 to LF0-VCA is the dominant control here but how should the D S R controls ...

It’s something that’s always niggled me and just about everything I’m used to has a dedicated output or so or speaker output etc….being able to pick and chose seems haphazard but as you say, that’s how it’s done with Modular’s.

That’s the standard CP3 mix of oscillation etc but from there and once thru the VCAs, I feed this, the final out thru a modified CP3 ...

Listening to 70's recordings etc I've noticed how filter sweeps on original Modular's of the time could produce a really biting and expression filter sweep.
Hard to describe but a round soft tone that sweeps into a cutting treble WiiooooW.
I know that with a standard Vco to Vcf you cannot get this ...

I believe the question over the Norlin matching circuit relates to a missing 10k resistor on the pnp section ? I think that’s what it is .

I know most test meters have hfe measurements in them.

So….given what you have explained and let’s say in ...

Can someone confirm that the method of matching transistors for most Moog modular systems is by Vbe measurement and not hfe measurement ?
The matching diagram in the back of the Norlin manuals seems to confirm it is by Vbe .

Is there a significant difference between the two measurements …if ...
