Re: intermittent dead key...
Luckily, the canned air seems to have done the trick. Note to self: clean and dust studio more frequently, and play Moog more often!

intermittent dead key...
Have an intermittent dead F# (the one between the TS and the mixer) on my sig series voyager. :( Hopefully, some canned air will do the trick. If not, Guess I need to send it back to Moog... But: I don't have the box it came in (got the beastie in January '03). Any advice if it comes to sending it b...

Re: New to Voyager - and a lot of questions
Unless your Signature Series was sent back to Moog for the upgrade, it only has 1 bank of memory/128 programs. The Sigs were the 1st 600 units made back in 2003... (I have Sig #167 in maple...)

Re: RME Voyager - Can I record the knobs???
First thing I'd check is:
Master button>page 1.1>MIDI Input/Output>Make sure input and output are both ON.
If that's not the trouble, you should be able to redo a system update w/ the demo version of the Voyager editor in the recommended order. Hope this helps!

Re: Electro harmonix tube pedals....
If I'm not recording DI or running the voyager through a MarkBass amp, I like running it through my Fender Champ 600. Gives it a good, sizzling bite!

Re: Electro harmonix tube pedals....
I use the EH Tube Zipper. I guess it's a tube version of the BassBalls with extra tweakability. You can use it as a tube distortion, envelope driven filter, or a combination of both. Really nasty nasal sounds (I especially love it on my bass guitar).

Re: problems with your Voyager, or not?
Never a problem I can recall w/ my Signature Series (bought new in January 2003). Still haven't got around to sending it in for ANY of the upgrades yet... <really need to get the retune/recalibrate upgrade for the better performance mods...>, but it still sounds KILLER <esp w/ the BBE Sonic Stomp in...

If no one or nothing is around the volume antenna (the one on the left), your theremin *should* be making sound. The volume turns down the *closer* you get to the volume antenna. Hope this helps!

Re: Just watched Fedex drop a Moog 55
Just shipped a Hartmann Neuron from New Orleans area to Adelaide, S. Australia. Good thing the UPS Store mega-packed it, as Ian told me the delivery guy TOSSED it from the truck to his driveway (& it was a 57lb package!)... Thankfully, it was OK (well, as OK a Neuron w/ a blown PSU and m...

Re: voyager v2.5 upgrade/update ??
All OS upgrades have been free. However, it may only have one bank of 128 sounds instead of the 8 banks that come on later voyagers (the expanded memory is, of course, a hardware upgrade). I have a Signature Edition w/ only the 128 memory slots, but I'm running the latest OS. As far as the input mix...

Re: The Lowpass Filter Catch-22
Presumably, you'd want to filter the distorted signal. As you've discovered, a severely distorted signal doesn't have much of an envelope (just off or full on), thereby rendering the envelope follower function fairly useless. I'd recommend getting a Moog control pedal and using your 101 more like a ...
