Re: Do I need a Sub37??

Be aware that the sub 37 is monophonic/paraphonic so if you want to play synthparts with chords than the Sub37 may not be a good decision for you...

Re: Sub-37 Bank 8, Preset 11 "Rubber Glass"

Did you already try to tear the sound apart and listen to what happens?
IE; turn oscillators off, change filter, change osc octaves, LFO section..?

That's what I usually do when i'm exploring a sound..

Re: Sub 37 editor/librarian and VST plugin

What do you want to sync to Ableton? If you press the Sync button on the Sub 37 the midi clock is synced with the DAW.

Here is a thread how to sync the Sub 37 with Ableton..

Re: Mac Audio Midi Setup for Sub 37

Do you see the Sub37 in the audio midi configuration?
And do you see a port there?

One option is to throw away the Moog Sub 37 in the audio/Midi configuration in OSX and scan the Midi-bus.
The Sub 37 should appear as a midi device now.

After this the Moog should also be selectable in Logic.

Re: what are you doing with your Sub 37?

I tweak sounds and build sounds from scratch. The bass and lead parts in my home recordings are nowadays mostly Sub37 patches. I also use the Sub37 in combination with an TC Electronic Flashback in one of my bands (Deep Purple covers) for some solo work. The sub37 is a perfect companion for my other...

Moog, what's next to develop for the Sub37?...

After the release of the 1.1.0 firmware update for the Sub37 I'm curious about the next step from Moog regarding the Sub37;
Will it be an editor/librarian, will it be free or paid?
Another firmware update?

Does anyone have a clue?

You're following the right steps Dr. K....
Are you in step mode or sequence rec mode?
I followed your steps in seq rec mode and it worked as expected.

Re: Sub 37 - Keyboard quality and playability

In that case I see your point absolutely. Because Hammond (and some other organs and synths) have waterfall keyboards which allows a certain style of playing that, in combination with the sound engine, creates an unique sound.

Re: Sub 37 - Keyboard quality and playability

No offense but isn't it all about technique? I own Nord keyboards, their keybed is to responsive (feels cheap) for me. My korg, Nord, Yamaha synths, Hammond organ and Roland digital piano have all totally different responsiveness and keyboards actions. I personally like the key action from the Sub 3...
