When you said it touched off the edge of a mixing desk, are you saying you dropped it, or just touched it to the edge of the mixer? If you dropped it, something inside could've gotten dislodged. Isn't there a ribbon cable attached to the switch? Maybe that has become unseated. If ...

Yea tried this and still nothing

The unit was working fine, it slipped and touched off a mixing desk.
possibly shorted off the case of the desk which is going to ground.

it's working grand when signal is bypass, but when i try to switch it on
the light is off and none of the signal is making it through.
