Re: Sub 37 midi setup master or slave

I think, there is no golden rule ... ;) Just do it as needed. You can use the Sub 37 for controlling other midi devices.

In my live-setup the Sub 37 is almost only in slave mode, because it generates one voice in a multi-voice arrangement.

Re: Sub 37 oscillators out of tune

You should ask for servicing your instrument. Once I had an out of tune issue myself. After one run of the autotune procedure the VCOs are still fine. To have them detuned after a power off/on cycle is absolutely not nominal. If you have still warranty - I think you should - don't risk it by trying ...

Re: 1.1.0 is now here!

@ Corgy: Thank you for the hint. I already searched the forum to find Amos' posting and I followed every step he described. This hard reset is working well, but this could also be done by MidiOx sending the first syx file. But ... :D I poked around on the new Elektron site and managed to find C6 (I...

Re: 1.1.0 is now here!

... That's the status: The two Modrate-LEDs are constantly on, Arp-LED is flashing slow, the MIDI-LED is never flashing, after powering on the Sub, the display says "Flash erased. Ready for code". I can't find Elektron C6, seems to be no longer available on their website. I tried everythi...

Re: breath control to sub 37 question

While looking at the EWI instruments, I crossed a very peculiar one, that I mistook at first for a breath controller, but nope, there is no way to blow air inside the stuff. But that's a controller: http://www.dafact.com The thing is called a Karlax, built by a small french society called Da Fact (...

Re: breath control to sub 37 question

Yea ... playing sax too, so you already did know this. Did you know that Michael Brecker used to play the EWI? Have you ever tried to plug an EWI in to an Yamaha VL-70m? If not, do it! of course mate. saw brecker here in london in 1988 when he was touring his first solo album. did an amazing 15 min...

Re: breath control to sub 37 question

Hi again corgy, ... I'm a pro sax player for my day job and i always blow through the ewi. I realise the manual says to blow past it, but trust me, i'm not going to strain myself on this thing compared to an acoustic horn. There is no comparison :-) Cheers, Si Yea ... playing sax too, so you alread...

Re: breath control to sub 37 question

... Anyway, first day was a bit disappointing. Couldn't get the ewi to respond to my breath properly and it seemed to be retriggering the sub constantly so there was constant stepping going on. Not very musical sounding at all. Gave up and went to bed. Next day, I tried factory resetting the ewi an...

Re: breath control to sub 37 question

I hooked up my EWI 4000S to the Sub 37, made some breath-control suited patches and had a lot of fun. It's a totally different playing and synth experience compared to keys. On of the main concepts to grasp, if you want a fully-responsive breath controlled preset (in a Sub 37 or any synthesizer), i...

Re: Sub 37 feature suggestions - firmware updates

I've seen this request a few times now and I'm curious to learn the application that pushes it to #1 of your top priorities. Can you elaborate on a hypothetical situation where your ears are not a better judge of where that knob needs to be? {I'm not being snarky; I really want to learn more about ...

Re: Sub 37 - Questions

OK, thanks, that was really easy!!! Is there a possibility to check the position of the knobs in a preset? Or a software like the one that I can use with the Minitaur? AFAIK a software editor is in the making and will be available for us in the near future. To check the knobs is not as easy because...

Re: Sub 37 feature suggestions - firmware updates

But did I get it right that Moog now says "that's it"? Hi Corgy, Fortunately, no, you did not get that right. .... There is more joy to come... Thanks - yes you are right - I replayed it - and I fully agree that we don't need to have an overcomplicated thing. If this keeps on like this, I...

Re: Sub 37 feature suggestions - firmware updates

Worth a look…. http://www.sonicstate.com/news/2015/01/22/namm-2015-moog-sub-37-updates/ R. Yes ... this sounds all great, the mod programming and specially a more powerful sequencer including swing. That's an incredible improvement. But did I get it right that Moog now says "that's it"? C...
