Re: Prodigy release trouble

Yep, looks like there are at least two different schematics out there, but the operation is the same, just different parts as the the board was revved during production. The capacitor C23 on the other scematic is a filter for the keyboard voltage but the cap that actually holds the voltage when the ...

Re: Prodigy release trouble

When you press a key on the keyboard, the voltage created is stored (like a battery)by capacitor C21, and the capacitor is then isolated from being allowed to drain off this voltage by an FET that's a part of IC14 when the key is lifted. IC12 is a high impedance opamp that buffers this cap, also hel...

Re: EXP Pedal Mod source doesn't work properly

Why yes, of course I have.

Now, what type of pedal are you using?

Re: EXP Pedal Mod source doesn't work properly

Hi Paddy: What kind of pedal are you using? Not all pedals are wired the same, and that may be part of the problem you're having. In my previous reply to you, keep in mind that although you do have to use the constant because of the way the VCA level is set up, you don't have to when addressing most...

Re: Moog Modular Expansion & Power Requirements

This sounds like an interesting project, and I wish you good luck as you proceed! Since something like this would require a certain amount of customization, I would think that the easiest way to connect another cabinet would be to add a parallel power connector to the current top cabinet, and then y...

Re: Share your synthesizer music!

This is a piece performed I performed live recently where all sounds, effects and ambience were created exclusively on the Moog One, and recorded directly to my iPad. Headphones recommended. m Y Here's a link to an earlier track where the Moog One is used in a more modular context with some overdubb...

Re: Modulating synth VCA

I haven't used the expression pedal to modulate the VCA yet, I'll try checking that out after work. I've used them on other stuff with no problems. Are you using an expression pedal that has a TRS (stereo) output jack with a TRS cable to the expression pedal inputs? That's how the jacks are wired (t...

Re: Clear bumpers on Pratt Read keyboards

These are getting hard to find. They are called bellcrank caps, and for what it's worth, someone has 4 available to sell currently on EBay. Not cheap, but at least available. Another source might be to scour local thrift stores or the Goodwill for a cast off 60s-70s home organ (Lowrey, Baldwin, etc)...

Re: Moog one patches

An easy way to create a useful INIT preset is to press SHIFT and COMPARE together. This gets you a setup with just Osc 1 enabled (saw core) going through the ladder filter with Modulation and FX off. It's not perfect, but it's a very quick way to get to a good starting point for new creations. Someo...

Re: Share your synthesizer music!

Here’s a piece I did recently using the new Moog ONE.

All sounds and FX heard are created on the ONE.

Re: How to repair sonic six?

Hi Bella: You can find and download a copy of the excellent service manual for the Sonic Six at the synthfool.com website. With this info, any competent synth repairperson should be able to figure out the problem with your synth. If it's never been serviced before, you may find that most or all of t...

Re: Isao Tomita Patches?

There was an album released in Japan only in 1977 called Sound Creature, which showed some of the techniques he used to build some of his particular sounds, along with a booklet of illustrations of these techniques. I don't have this in my collection, but have always meant to track it down to check ...

Wow! Your finished unit looks and sounds great, and has a lot of control over the functions.

How did you cut the slots for your slider pots? That has been one of those things that just seemed too difficult to do DIY for me, although I like sliders for some functions.

Congrats on an excellent build!

Re: DIY 1125 sample and hold...

Hi Tom: Looks and sounds pretty cool! I've always liked S/H, and the Moog is a really good one. The section where you can mix in the sawtooth oscillator as a sample source is a great idea and yields a lot of cool sequencer-like riffs much like its more advanced LFO cousin in the Sonic Six, another f...

Moog M15 App Updated!

Moog has updated their already excellent Model 15 app, and along with substantial updates to the Audiobus capabilities, Midi and the built-in recorder they have included three new collections of presets available as IAPs, including a collection I designed specifically for this app called Mercurial S...
