Re: Sub 37 + CP-251

The CP-251 can really do some amazing things to anything that receives CV. I love it in conjunction with my Sub37 or Moogerfoogers. Don't forget that with the latest firmware version on the Sub (actually, not the latest but the one immediately prior I believe?) you can map the CV inputs to many of t...

Agreed, fantastic set!

I'm looking forward to digging into these and learning how you go about getting these sounds.

Re: Animoog

Moog just released the Model 15 app as well. It requires a beefy iPad, but the demo sounds fantastic!

Re: Animoog

The synthesis types are completely different. The Sub37 is your typical analog subtractive synth with oscillators going into a filter into a VCA. Animoog is Anisotropic in its synthesis. My understanding and playing is to pick a point (or points) on a graph, modify x and y values to produce orbits a...

Re: Sub 37 Editor v1.0.0 & Firmware v1.2.0 is now available

I haven't install the new software / firmware yet and have the following question: Is it really necessary to install on Windows 7 the Sub 37 USB Midi Driver v2.23.0 for just using the new editor in stand alone mode? I have other devices like the Virus T2 that use my current USB Midi driver in Windo...

Re: Sub 37 RME Babyface noise even when turned off

Thanks for chimimng in! Did you have to turn on the instrument mode (HI Z)on your babyface? My output level of the sub 37 is really super low if I just use the standard line in. Yes, I already tried several outlets same problem. No, I've never had to put any of my synths into the Hi Z input on the ...

Re: Sub 37 RME Babyface noise even when turned off

I've got my Sub37, RME Babyface and custom built computer, and have no issues. Mine is plugged into a patchbay, but I've never had issues, even before it went into a patchbay and went straight into the Babyface. Try plugging it into a different outlet perhaps, and by different outlet, not the other ...

Re: Talk me into keeping my MF104M

Before you ditch the 104 try using it as a send/return off your mixer instead of routing directly through it. I bring the returns back to a pair of inputs and mix to taste. I've found that using the 104 in this way the audio doesn't get taken over and swallowed whole by the delay. Hmm, I'm a bit co...

Re: 104M available!

Excuse me for my ignorance, I am very new to Synths with just getting my Sub 37 and I might have not gotten the memo but did Moog drop the MF-104M completely or is it just behind in production? Or is there some sort of replacement being sorted out? There is one local here on consignment at Control ...

Re: I may have screwed up....bought Moog 104z

I've had my 104M SD for over a year now and have never hooked it up via MIDI for use with my Sub37, Rhodes, Wurlie, or re-amped soft synths. There's something about the timing not being perfect IMO, and while it may be nice to modulate some things via MIDI - I find it much more pleasurable to record...

Re: MIDI Delay with Ableton not evenly distributed

Another thing - turn monitoring off on your track. Just listen to the audio from the soundcard, not through Live. This may help with some regards. I've done a bunch of research into MIDI sync lately, and according to my research, Live is actually pretty solid when it's configured correctly. There ar...

Re: MIDI Delay with Ableton not evenly distributed

That's jitter, not latency. Try to get the latency down, and don't record immediately after starting playing in Live. Let it go for twenty to thirty seconds if possible so the clocks can get sync'd. Also, set your audio buffers as low as possible, which will help with jitter in Live 9. USB will tend...

Re: Should I keep only the Sub37?

I'd want some polyphony personally, especially for lighter, more airy pads.

And if you're looking to get rid of the Tanzbar, let me know. ;)

Re: sub 37 bass

I don't know what you mean by metallic sound The sound of metal being struck like a bell or tines of an electric piano. These sounds contain complex harmonics that are difficult to achieve any other way. Yamaha's DX range of synthesizers are FM synthesizers.FM synthesis modulates one oscillators fr...
