Re: Strange tempo behaviour - Subsequent 37
FINAL ANALYSIS I was not entirely accurate. Here is what actually goes on: https://youtu.be/0A4ICqmLZyU Obviously once you mess up the tempo range in PANEL mode, you can never get it back to normal, since there is no prevous version you can go back to, nor you can get it to Init state. Any ideas now...

Re: Strange tempo behaviour - Subsequent 37
I did tap in tap mode and it works. I can also use the tempo knob while in tap mode and it goes full range. However, as soon as go back to normal mode (the SYNC light is OFF), the tempo range goes way low. Not a huge problem as I can get the desired tempo in tap mode. But obviously, I'd prefer to ha...

Re: Sub37 Sequencer will not record new sequences
Eventually I sent the synth to official Moog service shop, EMC in Germany. They fixed it by replacing the control board. By the way, I am highly recommending EMC, Stefan is the guy! Top quality service, as it should be for a top brand like Moog.

Re: Strange tempo behaviour - Subsequent 37
Here is the video: https://youtu.be/_HpYdR-nhxg (Turn captions ON!) A correction: not only when using PANEL, the same thing happens when using any PRESET. Once you mess around with TAP tempo, the normal tempo (untapped) range goes down (becomes very slow) and cannot be restored to original range. Vi...

Re: Strange tempo behaviour - Subsequent 37
Interesting. Just got my Sub 37 from the extensive repair, official Moog shop. So it MAY be something with calibration, although I would be surprised. Anyway, the ARP RATE is too slow only in PANEL mode, not with presets. In presets, everything is normal. When you save panel to a preset, the rate is...

Re: Sub37 Sequencer will not record new sequences
No. I wonder whether this is a mechanical or electrical switch fault which I doubt, or a fault in the swith control circuit. At this point I am ruling out anything software related. Bummer

Re: Sub37 Sequencer will not record new sequences
Exactly the same thing just happened to me. The PATTERN knob plays dead, stuck in Up position. Any news with your Sub37? Have you managed to fix it?

Sub 37 firmware upgrade to 1.3.2?
Does Subsequent firmware upgrade applies also to Sub 37? Could not find any information... it could be assumed that YES because they are almost identical but I have doubts. Do we know for sure? Anyone tried?

Sub 37 "extra" modulation sources
I am puzzled by two "extra" modulation sources, "SINE LFO" and "NOISE LFO". Both are already available as their own switch positions, so what is the point of having them once more? There must be a reason and I am probably getting something wrong... what is it?

Re: Just got a Sub 37 - need some MIDI help?
I would highly recommend iConnectMIDI4+. It allows all kinds of routing and filtering between computers and USB or DIN MIDI instruments. Not aware of anything else so powerful. If you have a DAW and several MIDI instruments, it is a must. It will also channel audio between computers (say from iPad t...

Exactly.
Haven't seen that ad, no link. So let's take a look where it counts the most:

And here:

No comment really necessary. Dave is proud of his digital oscillators and I think he has every reason to be.

Re: Moog Sub 37 - is it analog, digital or hybrid?
what particially has grinded in my crotch recently was the marketing spin around the Dave Smith Prophet 12, where the phrase "analogue synth" was used just one too many times. And indeed it turned out it had digital oscillators. and then later they said "oh when we said analogue we w...

Re: Minibrute + Sub 37
I just checked on my Minibrute and yes, works exactly as you described. It looks normal to me. If you add Brute Factor you will get some pretty awesome tectonic noises. Working at the edge of "normal synth specs" and even going beyond is the main feature of Minibrute design. That is the wh...

Re: Phatty Tuner software and Sub 37
Thanx Amos!
No need checking. I just tried again using a single USB cable direct connection, no hub. Looks like that was it. It works now!
My USB hub did not make me any troubles until now, or so I thought.
The moral: Always check your USB hub in case of any USB connection troubles!

Phatty Tuner software and Sub 37
I cannot get Phatty Tuner software (Mac) to work with Sub 37. The sofware connects, Device menu says "Sub 37", midi channel and port is ok. After I press Send nothing happens. The Sub 37 Global menu, Tuning scales, stays unchanged, my scale is not updated. Since this is software from 2010 ...
