Re: Sub 37 editor/librarian and VST plugin

Whatever the excuse is, it isn't good enough at this point. I've been hearing for 6 months or more that it is almost done. That would have been acceptable when it was first released, now it is just insulting. I understand how software development works, I've been a software developer going on 25 yea...

Re: Sub 37 MIDI Commands - How to use NRPN

Admitted I have done a lot of this and definitely never done it for this specific NRPN: You'll need 4 CC messages to send an NRPN message 99 3 - this tell the synth you want to send an NRPN message (99) and the message you want to send is identified with MSB 3 (ARP STEP 1 RESET - MSB 3) 98 32 - this...

Re: Sub 37 editor/librarian and VST plugin

As much as I'd like to stay patient, this feature was part of the advertising for the initial product release. While most dealers have removed it from the specs, it still exists at Musician's Friend "Standalone and DAW Plug-in editor included". That's false advertising. While I love my Sub...

Re: send program change message to sub 37 in Ableton

It's fairly straight forward although I don't remember it off the top of my head. You basically ignore the bank numbers and think of it as 256 presets. From Ableton you may have to treat it as 2 banks of 128. If I remember to look when I get home in a few hours, I'll get you exact details.

Re: Moog, what's next to develop for the Sub37?...

I want the librarian next with the editor close behind. I have a feeling there is some reason they haven't given us parameter value display by now. So many people have asked for it. It's seems like such a useful and trivial thing to add but perhaps there is some limitation preventing it. I wouldn't ...

Re: Tool for managing presets?

Surely there must be something less cumbersome on the freeware/shareware market that would do the trick? Universal patch editors/librarians have been around for years. If there is a generic one, that is worth a damn, I haven't seen it. Please feel free to point me to it. Too many attempts have focu...

Re: Sub 37 factory presets

You have the correct number of presets. After 9/6 the rest are intentionally left blank for you to use as "user" patches.

Re: midi goes crazy and arp wants to stay on , ableton

Ive separated my devices into different channels and now the moog sub, bass station 2, volcas and tr8 live happily with ableton and push. I am no expert but as previous poster said the midi light flashing red is the clue to a midi looping back. Channnels SHOULDN'T have mattered, in this case, becau...

Re: Bricked Sub37 with 1.1 update

I experience a similar issue. The auto update erase the firmware but when I turned the power back on (with pitchwheel all the way up). It would act like it was installing the new firmware but almost immediately return with "device not found". It found the device fine to erase the firmware....

Re: sub 37 versatility

The forthcoming update is going to be a serious advancement and, after that, the editor will offer even more feature expansions. Promises, promises. j/k It's a fantastic synth and will take you some time to realize just how much depth it has. I feel other synths, many quite powerful but I think the...

Is Moog really keeping these serial numbers consecutive. 4000 built in about a year seems impossible given the size of the space/staff.

Re: Moog Sub 37 No MIDI in or out

It might help to tell us what kind of MIDI messages you are trying to send/receive and what devices you are trying to communicate with. When MIDI data is received by the Sub37 a red light comes on. Do you see that? Make sure the reason you aren't hearing the Sub37 isn't because of some audio issue o...

Re: Sub 37 - Non-Tribute Edition?

If you bought a "limited edition" of anything thinking is was going to be low production numbers without the said numbers being stated beforehand, you obviously haven't been around long. There were no lies and you got an awesome synth. If you are really mad you can probably sell it for abo...

Re: Sending MIDI to modulate Filter, Osc, Env., etc.

Look into Live's "envelope" features. It's opened with a little "E" on the MIDI track in Session View (I think it's a dropdown arrow in arrangement view). From there you can select which CC you want to draw or edit. Because Live knows nothing about your instrument you'll have to ...
