Changing the Sub37 CC Midi out mapping

Hello,

I've got my Sub37 hooked up to my Digitakt, and found more or less by accident that the Sub37 sends CC out to the Digitakt's sample editing, that actually is kind of useful. To a certain extent.

So I figured, if I could remap the CC messages sent from the Sub37 to the Digitakt, I can map ...

Re: Should I keep only the Sub37?

I'm honestly a bit jealous of your sampling/looping capabilities. Seems like a great set-up, even with its limitations. I have an OTB sequencer, and an OTB recorder, and even a looper, but no sampling at all short of going back-in-the-box. Works OK for me, tho, because so much of my music is non ...

Re: Should I keep only the Sub37?

Makes sense. Do you use Sub 37 samples in the AR too? Or do you feel it's neccessary with that?

Sampled loops, yes. Though not one shots. I feel there's so much going on within the Sub37, that it doesn't transfer well as a chromatically sampled version of itself, especially not bass sounds.

I ...

Re: Should I keep only the Sub37?

...keeping only the Octatrack and the Analog Rytm...

But yeah, the bouncy sequences are all Tempest, sampled and mangled in the Octatrack and then played and processed in the Rytm.

Can you eloborate on this? I love the Rytms filters and fx much more than the OTs but what way do you manage ...

Re: Should I keep only the Sub37?

I'd want some polyphony personally, especially for lighter, more airy pads.

And if you're looking to get rid of the Tanzbar, let me know. ;)

Well, it's on sale for the moment :) but I live in Sweden, so perhaps it's more of a hassle than what it's worth.

It's a great instrument, though. The ...

Re: Should I keep only the Sub37?

For those more abstract sounds, mellow pads, feather-light atmospheric drones and so on ... can the Moog do this too?

Or would I get an audioscape that's just too narrow, although great of course?

I don't have any Elektron gear so can't comment on how far that will get you. My own opinion is ...

I really do think listening to this if only for half a minute or so, is relevant for the discussion, since your choice of gear has a lot to do with kind of music you wanna make.

Re: Should I keep only the Sub37?

So lately, I though: what if I replaced the LP and the VOS by a Sub37 that would offer me the full knobbed panel, the memories (which I use with bands), the transportability and some square inches in the room?

Thoughs, guys?...

I'm not familiar enough with these members of the Moog family to ...

Re: Should I keep only the Sub37?

Thanks, solid and good advise.

So what I'd trade would be a Tempest, a Microbrute, a Tanzbaer and an Electribe 2. These are sonically all very different and offer quite a wide palette, but to tell you the truth, the only gear I'd really miss out of these, is the Tempest. That's truly a unique piece ...

Should I keep only the Sub37?

Friends at the forum,

I'm considering a gear purge. As in selling most of my gear and keeping only the Octatrack and the Analog Rytm.

And, of course, my Sub37.

That, however, would be my only synth. I'm thinking that with the power of the Octatrack's way of building tracks and mangling audio ...

Re: Is Sub37 and Minitaur Moog overkill?

Lot of good vibes on this forum :) thanks for your replies, guys. I've basically gone from most likely to sell my Minitaur to absolutely keeping it.

Besides, my daugher loves the way it looks and keeps twisting the knobs and cheering whenever she finds a sound she likes. Which you constantly do on ...

Re: Is Sub37 and Minitaur Moog overkill?

Thanks guys. The Minitaur stays. There's enough reasons to keep it and see what it offers, for now. With the new firmware update, just sequencing it from the Sub37 will probably in itself be legendary awesome.

Is Sub37 and Minitaur Moog overkill?

Friends at the forum.

I have a Sub37 and recently bought a Minitaur, because the price was right. Beyond right, actually, it was spectacular, so even though I had a Sub37, I took no risk - selling the Minitaur might actually earn me a dime, given the generous price.

So anyway. Does anyone here own ...

Re: Sub Phatty or Minitaur for bass?

Thanks. I've basically decided to not buy a Minitaur now and actually sell my Sub Phatty, after I read that the Sub37 will contain a 64-step sequencer. My money goes to that one instead.

Sub Phatty or Minitaur for bass?

Hello. This is my first post here. I own a Sub Phatty and am looking for something specific for bass. It's not hard to make the Sub sound like low-end thunder, but I'm after a unit dedicated to bass, and that offers something the Sub doesn't.

Does the Minitaur offer sonic ranges in the low end that ...
