am I showing a lack of understanding of the OPs request?

I thought OP wanted to sync his MIDI-enabled MF delay to his modular setup, and CV-Sync would be a possible solution.

If anyone wants a basic MIDI controller, we make custom ones (1, 2, or 3 switches) like this:

You can sync them to MIDI clock using CTL-Sync.
