Re: Matriarch side panels w/effects & device extension

beautiful work! almost gets me to buy a synth just to get the cabinetry :0)

kudos for being in Mass too! I like local businesses!

Re: What is the aprox duration of the ENV stages on the Grandmother?

yeah, I meant just share the results of a swap. shipping stuff for mods never makes sense. :0) I've gone through and swapped all the audio taper pots in the behringer gear; they're the Q in ladder filters, and any envelope or tigger/gate timing ADR pot; and any linear pot that has to do with tuning,...

VCO wrote: Sat Apr 01, 2023 2:01 am What would you consider an affordable analog delay that’s in stereo?
hmmm, idk what's new in analog delays lately. I have a bunch of old DOD rack mount analog delays and chorus boxes from the 70's, plus an MF104 and Clusterflux.

I'd be willing to explore modifying my two M32's, SubH, and DFAM pots along with your *mother if you want to do it.

Re: What is the aprox duration of the ENV stages on the Grandmother?

I have seen very poor performing potentiometers coming out of china in Behringer 'Alpha look-alike' potentiometers. - they lack tensioner mechanism to control LF damping, using only a moderately viscous goop. - the goop also has a bit of elasticity, making tuning difficult when the goop relaxes a bi...

Re: What is the aprox duration of the ENV stages on the Grandmother?

Here’s approximately what you can expect (measured attack times): 1) Roughly linear from 12 noon (2.2 seconds) to 5PM (13.3 seconds) 2) Roughly linear from 9AM (700ms) to 12 noon (2200ms) 3) Touchy and difficult to control below 9AM. Absolute minimum time is 2ms. No ability to get any attack betwee...

Re: What is the aprox duration of the ENV stages on the Grandmother?

I replace the envelope timing cap (usualy 10uf) with a smaller value, typically 2.5-5uf, in all my analog monosynths. i live for plucky fast envelopes. if I need a slow attack, I'll just turn the knob. adding a switch for different cap values also works. what's important is the End Resistance values...

Re: Moog DFAM which pot

I have not cracked one open. however, moog ladder filter freq pot is typically 5K, and a good quality through-hole D-shaft pot type is a 9mm taiwan alpha D-shaft.

Re: Analog Delay VS Digital Delay

analog delay is duller, but more saucy; each has it's place the other can't touch.

personally, analog is priced more than it's worth. the H90 is a very cool pedal.

mother 32 setup app

is there an app to setup a mother32?

I'm red/green blind, and it's friggin impossible to tell wtf is going on with the LED colors in setup mode.

i just need external clock in v2.0, and the LED's make it incomprehensible.

Re: DFAM run/stop. how to fully sync with ext seq

i like DFAM in "what's it gonna do now" mode better than a 4xfloor drum machine. patching a couple of 960's to it's Decays, and CF/FM/WN inputs, set 'em for 5 and 7 steps, switch triggers around with a 962, and let it run wild through a meadow of wonder.

patching 960 V-trigs

I must have read this paragraph at the many times, but never finished it or internalized it: https://modularsynthesis.com/moog/960/960.htm?fbclid=IwAR1SI_JAaPNZpXImPzq2SrPI2G6ex-toACFN3sL_J1zqS4aL2O5HlfmgmHQ a race condition in the set/reset logic prevents patching V-trig within the same 960 - betwe...

Re: 960 Sequencer Longer notes on a single stage

depending on your intent:

you can use '3rd row control of timing' to adjust sequence step period;

or, a 962 analog switch and a 961 to switch between two B-col delay settings.

Re: Subharmonicon - weird VCO 1 & 2 link behaviour when using CVs

block diagram in the manual shows the VCO2 CV IN is normalized to VCO1 CV IN.

tbh, i don't see what your problem is.

Re: Mod wheel out on back wrong impedance

not that it needs saying to an impedance complainer :0) but you could make a patch cable with a 1k series resistor.

btw which synth is this for?
