Re: I just have to say...

Shortly after posting this thread I did buy a Prophet 08 PE module version. I am very pleased with the sounds I can get from it. I should replace the knobs with a set of Prophet 12 knobs, though. I do think DSI makes great sounding machines. But, their keys could be better quality. Also, I was sorel...

I just have to say...

My Moog Voyager is a beautiful instrument. I played both the DSI Prophet '08 and 12 today. Neither is as nice as the Moog in terms of being a playable instrument. The Moog keyboard is superior by an order of magnitude. The wood finish is also much more plush on the Moog. The DSI's have sparse wood a...

Time for Moog to balls up.

I own a Voyager. It is the finest synthesizer I have ever owned (and I have owned many) - a masterpiece of machinery. Where will Moog go now? The Sub 37 Tribute looks like a good instrument, but also something like an entry synth. It's time Moog balls up, and lives up to their name. I want to see a ...

A dedicated 3 engine slave for the Voyager?

What about a rack module with 3 Voyager engines inside, no exterior controls (knobs or switches) except a couple of up down buttons and a screen? This to reduce production costs. The purpose - to serve as three voices for a poly-chained Voyager, making the Voyager a four voice polyphonic synth. This...

Re: New ARP Odyssey synthesizer!

The nice thing about that DIY 2600 is that you can build the case for it any way you like. I might even go as far as to make my of own face plate, polished aluminum or something like that. Now - all they need to do is make the PCBs available again. I guess they ran out of them.

Re: New ARP Odyssey synthesizer!

I'm curious at the price point. I see excellent vintage models go for about $2K. If Korg can give us a well made Odyssey with a nice sturdy body for under $1200, I might buy that. I wouldn't pay more than $1,400 at the very most. If Korg comes out with a miniaturized edition in a cheap plastic case,...

Re: Nothing but Voyager in the box.

The good news is - I found out my Voyager is spanking new and just off the assembly floor.
They have said they will send me my absent manual.

Alas, no word on the sticker.

Re: sub 37>>>next synth: sub voyager or poly?

The Opus 3 was my first synth. Wish I still had that little beauty.

I think the Voyager XL is probably the most expensive synth sold through Guitar Center. $5K+
A few others are in the $3.5K - $4K range.

Re: Voyager Plug SE (VST/AU) or Voyager Editor Librarian?

Well, this isn't good. I was hoping for some help here. Also, I am buying the Prophet '08 in a few days. Soundtower also does the librarian software for the Prophet. My voyager has nearly 900 presets, so the software is more a luxury than essential - but the Prophet has only about 250 memory slots, ...

Re: Nothing but Voyager in the box.

So... Moog has ignored my emails. Not surprised there - emails get no respect. At any company, I think emails are answered by chimps. So... I called them Friday at 8:00 am (my time) in the morning. They told me the guy I needed to talk to (Tom, i.e. Tom the Magnificent) was on the phone and would ge...

Re: sub 37>>>next synth: sub voyager or poly?

I know this (and little else)... In a couple of weeks I will be buying a DSI Prophet '08 - because I want a polyphonic analog and I think the Prophet has what I want. Moog should get into this market. The Memorymoog is a beautiful instrument that makes beautiful sounds, and if I had $10+ grand to sp...

Re: sub 37>>>next synth: sub voyager or poly?

Two dual filters (making for 4 filters in all), each with a dedicated ADSR Two VCA ADSR's Is this in addition to the 10 VCA EGs already included in your requested 10 voices ? Only 4 filters for a 10 voice poly… that's not really a polyphonic synth then. For full polyphony each voice must have it's ...

Re: sub 37>>>next synth: sub voyager or poly?

First off, I don't think the Voyager will ever be obsolete. It wasn't obsolete when Bob resurrected it from its original conception (the Minimoog) after decades of hiatus - and it will not be obsolete 30 years from now. No more so than a piano or a acoustic guitar will ever be obsolete. But I do bel...

Re: Voyager blank patch sheet

I just made my own (an hour ago) using Paint on my PC. It took me maybe 20 minutes. That way I can just make a copy of the Paint file for every patch I might want save, write in the value settings in each of the dials using the program, color the switches on/off using the program, and add any notes ...
