Re: Suggestions for modular stands?

Welp, part of the issue here is ...I don't entirely know... :/ The synth could (if I had my druthers) end up in a synth lab (yet to be created) with lots of synth friends (and fiends- I suspect I would practically live down there), but it could also end up on stage with some kind of symphony/orchest...

Re: Suggestions for modular stands?

Hello, Modular is Synthesizer 1C (in terms of size, picture a System 35 without the top sequencer cabinet). I haven't weighed it yet, but it's made out of wood and solid walnut, so I would guess 75-100 kilos. About 5 feet wide, 2 feet deep. Don't plan on gigging it (it's owned by an educational inst...

Suggestions for modular stands?

Hey everyone, So, as my restoration project (in which I restore a Moog Synthesizer Ic to working order) comes to a "close" (before the real fun begins hehe), I'm starting to look towards a more permanent setup for everything. Any suggestions on a stand for a modular? If possible, I'd like ...

Re: Dirty sine wave from 901?

Just a note (I should have made this more clear in the original post)- the changes in frequency are introduced by me, the oscillator itself is pretty stable. (I did this to show how the oscillator responded at different frequencies.) I'll see if I can get a ramp sample later on today. Best regards, ...

Dirty sine wave from 901?

Hey everyone,

I was noticing some artifacts in my 901's sine wave- my scope shows the following.

(1) Is this normal behavior for a 901 and (2) if not, any thoughts on how to rectify (no pun intended :P ) it?

Sound is here:

Trigger (Cinch-Jones) cables?

Hello all, I'm coming down the home stretch for this restoration process- does anyone know where I could get some Moog trigger (Cinch-Jones) cables? I've found some at the link below, but they're expensive, and longer than I need them to be... http://www.synthesizers.com/qmse.html Any thoughts? Woul...

Re: Popping noise from 911 EG

Thanks for suggestions- I was thinking of using a trigger converter to try and remove the 950 keyboard controller from the equation, which could very well (given its age) be related to the irregularity. If my memory serves me, the popping noise is unrelated to which VCA is being used, though I will ...

Re: Age old dilemma...

Just curious- what do you have now? IMO, the more oscillators and filters the better (though I'm sure others will differ in opinion here :) )

Keep up the good work!

Re: Hissing from 907 Fixed Filter Bank

Good to know. Yes, I'm finding out that Moog designs are perhaps a bit more idiosyncratic than I had previously considered ;) The speaker is AC powered- I'll try moving it away and see what happens. PSU is feet away from the unit, and there's really nothing else around from an electronic point of vi...

Hissing from 907 Fixed Filter Bank

Hello, I've got (to my great excitement) all the filter bands working on the 907 fixed filter bank, but have noticed some hissing/static emanating from the module, which I'd like to avoid. Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2L-iVuQXW4 I know these old filter banks use inductors (which can ...

Popping noise from 911 EG

Hello all, UPDATE: Power supply woes are solved for now- I'm now able to troubleshoot modules individually and as a whole system. (About time, since I've only got a few weeks to finish restoring this thing.) I've been working with the envelope generators, and have been experiencing a popping noise u...
