Sounds like you have the RME's input set up as a stereo pair in Ableton.

Check your settings in input configuration and check that you have "1 (Mono) & 2 (Mono)" selected.

Happy ending. I ordered a new inverter, installed it and the backlights are working again.

Not yet Stephen, but I've messaged the Aust. service centre. They are the other side of the country so I'd like to avoid having to send it away. There are techs locally who could have a look.

Thanks guys. The backlight was on and working while it was demo'd before purchase. After bringing it home and turning it on the backlight didn't come back on (only the mod and pitch wheel). The seller said that the backlight has always taken a while to warm up. So far after leaving it on for a while...

Quick question- on a Select Series Voyager, should the backlight come on straight way or does it need to "warm up". If so, how long does this normally take?

I am considering buying a 2nd hand Voyager and was wondering what are the best checks to go over in terms of finding potential faults or issues with the synth?
Are there certain things that are prone to failure that are easy to overlook?
