Re: Memorymoog CPU replacement (and Ram)

Higher frequency rate should not be so dangerous for the synth since i've seen à lot of Z80 at 6/8 & even 10mhz installed on the computer board, but i don't want to take risks :| Just for the Z80 you are right. But time constants, frequency generation or autotune might rely on the 2 Mhz as well...

Re: Memorymoog CPU replacement (and Ram)

Does the CPU board runs at 4mhz or 2mhz ? It seems at 4mhz, right ? So maybe changing my old 2.5 mhz CPU with a 4Mhz or higher as some users did would be a good idea. And i even could expect to get some benefits, for instance in speed. Ah no, it is just the crystal which oscillates at 4 Mhz. The ci...

Re: Memorymoog CPU replacement (and Ram)

A clock rate of 2.5 Mhz just means that you can't use a 2 Mhz replacement, but a 4 Mhz or faster. But this only means that the processor COULD run faster, not that it runs faster just because you use it. The processing speed ist dependent on the clock rate, not the Z80 variant. AFAIK there are Z80 ...

Memorymoog CPU replacement (and Ram)

Hi Everybody 😉 I was wondering which Z80 would perfectly fit as replacement. I've seen different cpu frequency speeds in several MM. Some units has a 4mhz Z80 cpu (Z80A), others 6mhz (Z80B) and even 10mhz (seen a MM in a video with Z84C5010PEC Ram80, i don't know what "RAM80" means and the...

You right, i need a break. I'm too tired with this now :| but just to know, where should i exactly connect this clip lead on the Common analog board ? Could you please show me on the schematics or send a picture when you get time ? Thanks in advance !

P.s : I'll send you a private message

Re: Memorymoog issue, help is needed.

Thanks for your answer Mark and ok for P42
Nope, no cable plugged into the clock in jack when i try to use the internal clock.
Unfortunately i think i'll give up for this issue, indeed we've tried almost everything.
Too bad...

Re: Memorymoog issue, help is needed.

I've seen on the schematics that the signal goes to P42 (pin 2) on the Digital Board and after a check i saw this. A wire is missing on pin 2. It's strange because there's no free wires into the MM+ but maybe i'm wrong. Is there only 4 soldered wires to P42 ?

Re: Memorymoog issue, help is needed.

Coming back with my report  So i've tried everything but Unfortunately it didn't work out. I even cleaned once again the pins and sockets with Deoxit but nope, it doesn't seems to be a faulty ribbon cable. P517 looks also perfect as well and pushing on the connector while the arpeggiator...

Re: Memorymoog issue, help is needed.

Hi Mark, First i hope you're doing well  Thanks for all these informations ! Yes, i confirm that the Square wave LFO is working fine sound-wise and i can see the LED respond to the rate. I already removed, cleaned the pins and re-seated the ribbon cables going from the CA board to the Digital ...

Re: Memorymoog issue, help is needed.

Thanks mark ! I also do beleive that the problem is relatively easy to resolve. Unfortunatetly i don't have the part number for the jack socket. Reason is that to be precise i've replaced it with one that i took from an Boss Pedal but in both case it failled. And some weeks ago i even put the origin...

Re: Memorymoog issue, help is needed.

Well, regarding the Hold function, both buttons (Hold and Mono) could be lit up when engaged but anyway, It's resolved now ;) Are you serious ? You also do have the same issue with the Arpeggiator ? We're damned lol ! I tried your trick with the midi cable but unfortunately there's no change. I can ...

Re: Memorymoog issue, help is needed.

Hi Mark, thanks for your answer and well done for this ! Once again you're the boss :D Well, the hold function works well now but i'm not sure to understand what you mean by "working in Poly Mode". Indeed, a chord created with the Hold function is only used monophonically (the chord is tra...

Congrats, you're the boss ! :D So, it was U8 (CEM3360) on the Common Glide board. I've just reseated and cleaned the socket with deoxit (there was a litle b...
