Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere, but it's so hard to find specifics on this kind of thing...
Could I feasibly use this as a MIDI arpeggiator for my sub phatty synced from Ableton?
For example, Ableton has the clock going at a specified tempo. Syncs to the beatstep, a simple 16 step pattern ...

Re: New Arturia Step Sequencer for Sub Phatty!?
So how are you specifically hooking it up with the SP? Cv? Or just running the SP into the sequencer?
And can it be controlled be a clock, and potentially control the LFO on the SP via midi? For me a sequencer is useless unless it can take a clock source with specific bpm's.
So far I've only ...

Re: New Arturia Step Sequencer for Sub Phatty!?
Just got the Beatstep and it is awesome. A stand-alone analog step sequencer for $100? You can't beat that. It is super great. Sturdy, gorgeous, and works perfectly. A couple of minor quirks that hopefully will be addressed in firmware update, but I HIGHLY recommend it.

- the Multidrive, very disappointing, this knob it stays up all the time and still doesn't really grind. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlKTyMnxlq0 , Overdrive apparently has more teeth. Tried again tonight and not sure. Maybe test your listening volume with 0 Multidrive, then add it. It does ...

Re: SubPhatty editor troubles (Amos on the case!)
I updated my firmware and got the editor going in Ableton 9 on my Mackbook Pro (running 10.7) as soon as it came out. It worked great for a few weeks, and I was using it all of the time. Now it's suddenly started crashing Live almost 90% of the time when I try to open the 'prefs' or Librarian pane ...

Re: Pitch Wheel to only osc2? [SUB PHATTY]
It may not be exactly what you are looking for, but you can do it with the mod wheel if you set the source to FILT EG and push the Pitch Amt OSC 2 ONLY button. Then just make sure you have full sustain on the filter eg, and you can dial in the interval you want with the PITCH AMT. It's kind of a ...

Re: Best cities for electronic music and art
LA gets a bad rap, but it's a fantastic place to live. Yeah, the traffic is terrible (very, very terrible), but other than that, it is amazing. Perfect weather like 350 days out of the year, and tons of creative people everywhere. You can find like-minded people to work/jam with no matter what you ...

Re: Sub pHATTY Snare
You can get a wide variety of percussive sounds with just the noise generator. Exactly how 'snare-like' is probably subjective... but start with just noise turned up in the mixer, and a quick amp envelope. Then 'tune' to taste with the filter cutoff/resonance and multidrive. Sometimes adding some ...

Re: SUB PHATTY TRACK
Really great track! I'm feeling a Flying Lotus sort of vibe there.
Here are some tracks I did during the first week I had mine, when I was just getting a feel for it. Man, I am loving this instrument like crazy.
