Re: Prodigy, or a more 'modern' moog / synth?
hm, for some reason the sound cloud sample isn't playing any sound. I'll have to try again later https://soundcloud.com/vacancy-of-disco/aggressive-voyager-sc here you go. i started just by going through the raw wave shapes of the first VCO and then played around with FM from VCO 3 to the filter and...

Re: Prodigy, or a more 'modern' moog / synth?
And I suppose to be clear, I'm not only looking for the sounds in that prodigy video, I just want something that can sound as raw and buzzy as that

Re: Prodigy, or a more 'modern' moog / synth?
Well the voyager rme I've seen for around 1500 used, so I'd splurge if I could get all the sounds in after, plus modern, plus midi, plus all the sounds I don't know about

Re: Prodigy, or a more 'modern' moog / synth?
Does anyone have any videos of this in action? Ive played an original D and a Prodigy, and every time i hear the Voyager im a little disappointed. I find it a little polite.. All the sounds you've heard in that Prodigy demo (with an added reverb effect not mentioned by Retrosound72) can be done with...

Re: Prodigy, or a more 'modern' moog / synth?
That would be great. If it could do some of these types of buzzy sounds, then I'd be pretty sold: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cew7dAbDh0 If you're willing to splurge on the voyager rme I would go that route otherwise the subphatty is a fine solution. With all the great new gear coming out I thin...

Re: Prodigy, or a more 'modern' moog / synth?
Yeah the Sub Phatty is the one ive been curious about. It's the only one I've seen that gets closer. But does it really get as aggressive and raw as that?
The less keys doesn't bother me.
Id also splurge for a used Voyager RME but I've just never heard the new voyagers get as nasty as that

Prodigy, or a more 'modern' moog / synth?
I had my heart set on getting a Prodigy. I love the nasty, raw, vintage sound it has. And it's in my price range. However I know I may have service issues, no MIDI (or higher cost to implement it), maybe no CV / Gate (depending on the model). I don't care about presets really. This is just for studi...

Re: Moog Prodigy - Sequencing
I have thought about newer moogs. While they sound good, I've found that they lack the bright and aggressive qualities of the older ones. I've found the voyager to be a little more tame in that regard than the old Model D's i've played. Here's alink to Kenton: http://www.kentonuk.com/synthselector/s...

Re: Moog Prodigy - Sequencing
So if that's what keyboard in does, what is Oscar In used for?
Also does Key In control the gate of the note?

Moog Prodigy - Sequencing
I'm interested in getting a Moog Prodigy, and maybe interfacing it with some sort of MIDI / CV Converter and a sequencer. With the Prodigy MKII, can I send Note on/off messages for specific notes? Or do I actually need to trigger the the notes by playing the keys on the prodigy? How about the MKI? A...
