Re: I have the next big idea

With the ipad and interfaces, Multieffects boards are obsolete. With that way of thinking analog synthesizers would also be obsolete. There will always be a market for the real thing. That's why MOOG and others are still in business. Eventually some company is going to make an all analog multi-fx u...

Re: I have the next big idea

I never liked the sound of Boss COSM. I do like the idea of multi-fx pedals that can save presets. My idea is for MOOG to make an all analog multi-fx pedal. It would need digital control, same as their synths, in order to save presets. MOOG is really good at this. An all analog multi-fx pedal with t...

They can make it so the expression pedal isn't built in. Good idea!

I have the next big idea

An all analog multi-effects unit that has the ability to store presets. Something like the boss ME-80, but all analog with digital control. Make it like the Sub 37 where all the presets can be stored in banks on the surface and all control can be done without menus. Put the essentials like Chorus, D...

Re: SLOP

I'd say 10 seconds for 4 modules to set. True, but in a live setting that's too long. Maybe it's too much to ask with the current Slim Phatty, but if Moog ever designed a new polysynth then I think this is a cool idea. Especially for those that like the charm of the Oberheim poly SEMs. Or those tha...

I understand that you can go in and adjust each module manually.

Can the presets be saved that way?

I'm talking about when you polychain slim phatties. Making each one slightly different even though they share the same preset. And making the option easy.

Re: SLOP

It would be cool if it was one turn of a knob. All the parameters randomly drift a little or a lot depending how much you turn the knob. Then you don't have to go into each module. I wonder if it could be done. If they can add an exotic tunings option, I don't see why this couldn't be developed and ...

Re: SLOP

Even so, a "slop" function allows you to adjust how much randomness, from subtle to extreme. Also, it would be cool to have the option over all the parameters, filter, envelopes, etc...

It would be really close to the old poly oberheims. A quality that makes them special.

SLOP

DSI P8 has a knob called slop that " introduces a bit of randomness to simulate the drift typical of analog oscillators that aren't digitally controlled." The original Oberheim SEM 2/4/8 voice naturally had this randomness since each SEM had to be matched by hand. The SEM had "slop&qu...

Re: Sequencer?

I'd like a Q960 with preset capabilities like the Sub Phatty. No menus, just buttons on the front panel. 4 banks of 8 though, like the roland sh-201.

The Sub Phatty does great bass sounds from what I hear. Does it steal the Minitaur's thunder?
