Shouldn’t make any difference, you are isolating the MiniTaur from the Ground pin of the USB cable. So even if the cable is shielded the MiniTaur will still be isolated from it.

Indeed the SK is a very handsome looking synth, and I can assure you that the Leipzig sounds very bit a good as it looks too.
