Re: New alliance for Moog, hopefully a great development

This is a huge loss for musicians. Very sad news. I felt like they were one of the last beacons of light still holding on.

Re: Analog Delay VS Digital Delay

The debate between analog and digital has been going on since the 80’s. The delays you listed are digital, but they do try to model analog. IMO, they’re pretty close, but not there. Others will disagree. It may be worth it if you’re playing live and want presets. But if that’s your goal, the Suhr Di...

Asheville Music Tools - Moogerfooger Legacy

Has anybody checked out Hawker’s new pedal line? He was a designer of some of the Moogerfoogers (MF-104M, MF-108M, and more?). He is no longer at Moog, but is continuing to make incredible effects pedals. https://www.ashevillemusictools.com/ I have the ADG-1 Delay and ACV-1 Chorus. Both of them are ...

Re: "Bring back the hardware units!" / Reintroduce Moogerfoogers, make them better?

I completely agree. Rerelease, but address the original issues. Can you imagine the popularity it would have with the semi-modular world and guitar world? 1) Smaller size, but a similar look. 2) Bring the patch bay to the front with 1/8” just like the semi modular synths. 3) Put more useful things i...

104HP case with 1/4” Audio Out?

I’d like to put my mavis in the same case as my mother-32 or DFAM. I find the 1/4” audio out on the original cases very handy. Has anybody figured out how to go to a 104HP while keeping the 1/4” audio out?

Re: Recording Balanced Interface Issues

Okay, I figured out a solution for now. It seems as though the TRS to TS adapters connect the ring to the tip, which causes phase cancelation. I’m using 1/4” insert/Y cables and only plugging into one of the inserts (tip). It works. My only issue now is that the Grandmother and Mother 32 have signif...

Recording Balanced Interface Issues

I have a Matriarch, Grandmother, Mother-32, DFAM, and Subharmonicon that I want to record. I’m connecting it to a 32 channel interface that has TRS 1/4 balanced Dsub cable. I can’t simply swap cables out for TS. The Matriarch works fine. The rest of the synths are incredibly low volume. I bought Hos...

Re: Moog/Realistic MG-1 Mod Guide

If everything is done correctly, is recalibration generally never needed when doing the filter mod? I just got my MG1, want to do the filter mod, but I'm having a very hard time understanding that calibration process on p18. I'd hate to do it and be stuck. You sent a few questions through PMs and i...

Re: Tuning issue

You would probably have to post more details about the pot, like values, pictures, any numbers/markings on it. You may also have better luck posting on a music electronics forum like GroupDIY.com . A lot of recording gear uses dual concentric pots and there are some incredibly experienced people on ...

Re: Arp Odyssey - Now I Get It!

I went with the full sized version as well. I thought they'd be available for a lot longer than they were. I purchased it last second because I didn't want to miss out. I think it was Sweetwater's last one. I'm really glad I did.

Arp Odyssey - Now I Get It!

I've leaned heavily towards Moog synths as my preference for a while. Recently, I decided to go ahead and pick up an Arp Odyssey. The demos don't sound too amazing to me, but I like a lot of bands that use them. At first I struggled with it. The controls don't react the way I expect them to. I found...

Re: Newbie Model D Question

It takes around 30 minutes for mine to the tuning to stabilize (longer if it was in the cold). The master tune knob usually lands between -1.5 to -1.5 for a while, then slowly goes towards zero. Between -.5 and .5 sounds totally acceptable to me.

Re: Gaze into my Minimoog Power Supply crystal ball...

This is really blown out of proportion. Any negatives to the external power supply are overshadowed by the benefits. They used a standard 4 pin xlr instead of a custom connector. It'll always be pretty easy to find a +\-15v, 5V psu, even if you need to get one custom made. If you're worried about we...

Re: My Pedalboard

HI Facon, I think we may have chatted on soundcloud. My Patch Box is not noisy. In fact, I like it so much that I ordered a 2nd one. I think they upgraded their power supply in the last batch to one made by "Vol-gen." I've heard the Clouds module can be quite noisy because the reverb is o...
