Re: Minimoog D via Beatstep/Dark Link
If I understand you correctly, your Model D wants a bit less than 1 v/octave? Then you should be able to make a very simple passive attenuator, to trim down the voltage from either of your boxes. The diagram at the link below should do it, but change the value of the pot to 50k instead of 500. http:...

Re: What do you store in the back of your Voyager?
A tiny Behringer mixer and a Behringer mic pre. I have the pre in the Voyager's insert loop, a clean signal, just boosting about 15 dB, to emulate the Model D's filter drive behavior. Nothing extreme, but brings some welcome edge to the filter. And I just have to back off a bit on the oscillator mix...

Re: Voyager anniversary edition: Upgrade?
For future reference:
With the aid of Rudi Linhard, I managed to get my non-booting Voyager back to life and complete the OS upgrade. The steps to do that are in this thread.

Re: Disable save preset with double click the master
Hi Rudi, Well, after browsing through the menus, the only things I wonder about are the Global Cursor and No Boot System settings What do they do/how would you use them? Also, since there are some "hidden" functions, I wonder if there are hidden functions I've not yet discovered. Any chanc...

Re: Disable save preset with double click the master
Thanks again Rudi, this worked perfectly and my Voyager is fully back to life now! Both the OS and Boot version says 3.6.
Is there any updated documentation for the new features?
Regards
/Jonas

Re: Disable save preset with double click the master
Thank you so very much Rudi! I can now boot and it says v 3.6 on the boot screen. Apparently though, I'm running a minimal OS now? The synth's playable, but a lot of the menu options are missing. After a second re-boot, there's a message saying "The operating system has to be re-loaded. Re-load...

Re: Voyager anniversary edition: Upgrade?
I don't think it's a recommended mod. Rudi mentioned it in response to my crackling noise woes, after I quoted a tech who said it might be because I used a new OS with an old digi board. But all Rudi said was that "this is the difference between the new and old board". He doubted the crack...

Re: Disable save preset with double click the master
Unfortunately, this update screwed my Voyager SE. It now boots into sweet nothing. The LED's and the display lights up, but the display just shows black pixels all over.
I guess there's no way out of this, except taking it to an authorized repair service?

Re: Minimoog Sync Mod
The point of having both VCO 2 and 3 independently syncable to VCO 1 is this: * VCO 3 can be used for frequency modulation of VCO1 and 2. You might like to be able to do that while VCO 2 is synced to VCO 1. So that's why you might like to have only VCO 2 synced to VCO 1. * VCO 3 can be set to a fixe...

Re: Minimoog Sync Mod
So what do you think, is adding sync for VCO 3 worth it? I guess it could be fun to sync it and then turn off keyboard control?
I have the new oscillator board, so adding sync is a bit more involved.

Re: Minimoog Sync Mod
In the diagrams at synthfool.com, the old oscillator schema shows a sync mod where you can sync both VCO 2 and 3 to VCO 1, hence the two switches. The schema for the new oscillator board only shows sync for VCO 2->VCO 1. I guess one could adapt the same solution for VCO 3 as well though? Question is...

Re: Minimoog: how do you use the LO setting on VCO 1 and 2?
This is surely gonna change the way I make music! :D No, but seriously, I'm a bit surprised I haven't found anything at all about this, googling the web. The VCO 1 and 2 LO settings seem quite esoteric for an instrument that otherwise only sports very basic (yet highly useful and flexible) settings.

Minimoog: how do you use the LO setting on VCO 1 and 2?
I've yet to find much use for the lo setting on VCO 1 and 2. Any tips?

Re: 197x Minimoog Serial 5128
It's entirely possible that the common practice of writing the production date inside had ceased after the sale of Moog Music Inc to Norlin Industries and the move of the company to Cheektowaga. That would mean that serial 6921 and over would probably not have any dates, but only the signatures of ...

Re: 197x Minimoog Serial 5128
Mine is 72xx and there are no markings anywhere inside it with regards to production date (a few signatures though). I guess the yellow sticker has fallen off. So apparently, not all minis have (surviving) date markings. There are some info here , but I've read somewhere that it's not entirely corre...
