OK, so as Kevin said, with no voltage on the 1/4" connector, you should get no continuity tone from your Ohmmeter when the leads are connected to the CJ prongs. So your first test was good.
On that second test, if the signal from your triggering source was over about 2 volts, you should have gotten ...

Re: MicroMoog S-trig input.....
The sound indicates 0 Ohms. Also called continuity, or a short.
Test this please. With cable disconnected at both ends, Black lead to short prong, red lead to fat prong. Tone on the ohmmeter, or no?

Re: MicroMoog S-trig input.....
It sounds to me like the wires inside the CJ jack on the dot.com cable might be shorting. With the new cable completely disconnected, try testing for continuity between the prongs on the CJ connector while wiggling the cable where it enters the CJ end. As has been said, shorting the CJ jack is what ...

Re: Moog Prodigy keyboard tracking issue
Wow, thanks! It's a gem! So much interesting information. And look at page 22. It suggests what Moog engineers thought about who might be servicing the Prodigy, and what equipment they might be using.

Re: Moog Source Troubleshooting Challenge
For a quick and simple 'touch free' audio probe, a guitar cable connected to a cheap practice amp can be used. Hold the free end of the cable like a probe, get the tip within a half-inch of an oscillator (or octave divider) and you can usually hear the note it is playing (or not playing). Don't ...

As no one has mentioned it, Pictures at an Exhibition by ELP. There's nothing better than a Hammond tonewheel playing tag with a Moog modular.

Re: V trig to S trig problem
Thanks Kevin. So I'm thinking that for a homemade V-trig to S-trig cable carrying that much current, that using a 2N2222 (handles 3X to 5X the current of a 3904) in the converter would be a better choice than a 2N3904. And they both cost just pennies anyway.

Re: V trig to S trig problem
I'm following along and learning a lot. I built a V-trig to S-trig converter cable recently, using that circuit. I found it on page 69 of the Micromoog owners manual. (Thank you Kevin for hosting those wonderful references!)

Re: The latest Ebay rips...
Speaking of eBay rips, I was outbid at the last second on that fuzzy-pictured $2900. Minimoog model D on eBay several weeks ago (yes, I have the bug), then 3 days later received the most grammatically correct and official-looking second chance offer I've ever seen via email. Unfortunately it wasn't ...

Portamental, if I recall correctly, you have one or more Micromoogs.
Why would you not suggest a Micromoog?

Re: Micromoog basket case
Thanks MC, your answer makes complete sense. The main board has lots of surface contamination on the top. I have cleaned up small areas with CRC Electronic Cleaner on a q-tip, but there are many areas left.

Re: Mini Moog D OSC gone Super High
As a hobbyist making repairs to equipment I own, or in projects, I have no liability to anyone else, and no one to blame but myself for the outcome. That said, I've bought and used 1468, 4013, 3080, 556 and 3046 chips from ebay sellers in the US, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines with ...

Re: I've been offered a Moog Prodigy
I'm sure the Prodigy is a great piece of gear. But I would trade the second oscillator of the Prodigy for the S&H and input/output signal and CV versatility of an equally well maintained Micromoog, especially if we're in the $1000. price range.
