Just as an update I tried the Minitaur on an empty midi channel setting the midi in and midi out to the Minitaur. Using this method I was able to track automation changes when recording which means I am receiving midi back into Ableton, I just can't get it working as an ext. Instrument.

I am having a similar problem.

I can't get any automation in Ableton at all though, regardless of whether the editor is open or not. If I have only the editor open I am receiving midi messages in both directions, meaning I can adjust the hardware and view changes happening in the editor, and can ...
