Strange that you need to process the sound with Exciter’s to get that fat moog sound. I feel that the Voyager sounds a bit thin compared to my Model D. I’m interested in buying a X-Factor sizer. I’ve heard that it should sound more like the original Model D. http://www.macbethstudiosystems.com/x-fac...

Hi. Yes I own both a 08 and a Voyager AE. I must say I think the 08 is an awesome sizer, has a nice organic sound. I feel the oscillator detune and drift is more musically then the Voyager. On the Voyager the lock on hard then suddenly they are too much out of tune. The envelopes on the 08 are a bit...

Don’t know if the .COM sounds similar to a Moog Modular since I never tested a real Moog Modular. What I can say is that the .COM has a very pleasant warm and organic moogy sound. The transistor ladder filter sounds a bit different then my Moog’s but in a good way, it has it’s own sound. I like the ...

I would recommend you start with a virtual analog sizer… It is much easier to hook up to computers and is polyphonic and multitimbral. A used vintage synthesizer needs love and care… if it needs to be repaired it might coust a lot of money. Check out the Alesis ION, it is a competent sizer the sound...

I guess I say Allan Wilder X-Depeche Mode member... He is a really talented keyboard/drum player and he looks so cool when he plays. Especially on the Live In Hamburg tour (1985). His rig contains a Roland Jupiter-8 and an E-mu Emulator-II :P

I bought this… the closest I could come to a moog modular. I’m very happy and it looks and sounds fantastic and has the same nice knowbs as the Model D.

Does he play at all, most of the time it looks like he just slaps his hands on his JD800. I can imagen how bad it must sound but you can’t here it… Are they really connected?

Hey guys... I’m all into analog sizers... I’m even going to buy a Synthesizer.com Studio44 system. I’m not saying that moog LP or Voyager is a good first buy. I’m just saying that sometimes a VA is good if you just want to compose music, with analog sounding sounds and plenty of knobs to play with. ...

Hi Bianca, If you are going to buy your first sizer maybe a monophonic (only one key sounds at a time) analog sizer is a bit overkill… Analog sizers (especially old used ones) need a lot of maintenance which is expensive. Are you going to compose music using computers? Most of the early (pre 1983) a...

The early Signature/Performer editions had better quality knobs, more like Model D. My friend has an early Performer and when he did the hardware upgrade to reduce noise the service tech somehow damaged four of the knobs. The metal face on top of the knobs where missing when he got it back. Of cours...

I think the Voyager is to stable. I think that’s why my Model D with two VCO's beats the Voyager using 3 VCO. I guess vintage analogue sizers are like fine vine... they need to mature. Route smoothed S&H modulation to one of the VCOs and presto! Vintage drift and instant fine wine 8) I usually ...
