Re: Sweetwater Sales Engineer Recommendation

My vote is for Caleb Lowrey. Very knowledgeable and as helpful as they come.

Re: Moog One 8 Voice Owners here?

I have an 8 voice. It was the best I could afford without selling off my Prophet 6. And I love it, but just as SteveModana puts it, it depends on how you're trying to use it. Unison and layering of the engines is going to eat up voices FAST! So is it limiting? Based on the overall design concept of ...

Re: Mod routing question

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, I figured I'd have to set up 3 modulation lanes.

Mod routing question

Greeting folks. I'm trying to do something seemingly simple . . . just want to have aftertouch controlling the amount of LFO 4 being sent to the frequency/pitch of all oscillators. Somehow, that doesn't look to be an option in the mod matrix, unless I'm just being dumb . . . which is certainly possi...

Re: Minimoog Voyager Mixer Out/In

I keep a moogerfooger ring mod patched to that almost always. Cool being able to ring mod the oscillators pre filter.

Re: minimoog pitch wheel. I know, not again..

Slightly off topic, but I hate to start a new thread for this since it's regarding the pitch wheel. Can anyone tell me what the approximate range of pitch bend is on their reissue? Mine is somewhere between 9-10 semitones bending up and between 7-8 semitones bending down . . . not exactly ideal in m...

Re: Noise issue, is this normal?

I’m wondering/speculating whether “the silent Ones” are either later designs or not silent really at all? Ian My 8 voice was built in August 2019, so that would be a later design. I too would suspect that there are no "silent" Ones. Just picked up a repair from Three Wave Music and in cha...

Re: Noise issue, is this normal?

I received a reply from Moog's service department, and as a prior post on this forum similarly stated, Moog maintains that this is indeed normal behavior in both 8v & 16v Ones. Their claim is that 12 o'clock on the master volume knob is unity gain, and anything above that is additive. The VCA &a...

Re: Noise issue, is this normal?

I have an 8 voice. Can anyone confirm if their instrument behaves in this manner? INIT a patch (shift + compare) Turn the VCA level control of synth 1 to zero. Gradually increase the master volume. As it gets beyond about the 2 o'clock position, audible noise is introduced. By the time master volume...

Re: Volume knob weirdness?

Between 7-12 o’clock positions there is hardly any signal, from 12-to 3 o’clock I get signal but beyond that it’s just distortion, clipping and noise which I feel is really odd behaviour Similar to mine. I spoke with my supplier and Moog, I also shared them some audio examples. The Moog engineers s...

Couldn't agree more. I'm a huge fan . . . . and while it's disgraceful that Squire wasn't alive to see it (and Peter Banks too, for that matter), better for it to have happened before yet more members leave the planet.

Re: DSI Tetra

Like francesco, I too had a Tetra/Mopho keyboard combo. Yes, sub oscillators and feedback are the only difference vs. the P08, but they actually make a big difference . . . feedback especially. Small amounts can thicken the sound considerably. Decent sounding synth, but I never loved it. The Tetra i...

Dumb question regarding 1.1.0 firmware update

I'm always late to update my synths. Just downloaded 1.1.0 for the Sub 37. Sorry for the dumb question, but do I need to back up my custom patches prior to the update? I'm assuming yes, but didn't see anything in the documentation specifically stating that. Thanks guys.

Re: Naysayers be damned...I love the Prophet 6

My issue with DSI stuff is not the sound. It's the build quality. I played a prophet 6 and a Pro2 last week. The knobs on both felt cheap. Everything about it felt a bit cheap. It's obvious that they cut corners on their devices to meet a certain price point, but how much money is that really savin...
