The Model D hits Broadway!
By far the nicest room the old girl has ever played (so far). This was last night at a Broadway benefit concert for the Trevor Project. BTW this was taken at rehearsal, the place was packed for the perf. And of course it opens correctly when you click on it. The work was Tales of the City, a musical...

IT LIVES!!
Well, after owning this baby for 36 years, and wishing I could get it back to its original shape, I'm happy to say it is done. This forum has been so incredibly enlightening and helpful to getting to that goal, I can't imagine not having the collective available to bounce things off of. The work Chr...

Moog Source--Saving data to computer
Hey all, looking to save sounds via the 'To Tape' jack into an iMac. My best guess is via a USB audio interface (?). Is that the only/best way? Also, what app would you recommend, GarageBand, QuickTime, or something else? Last time i did a data dump, reagan was president. and i had a lot more hair. ...

IMG_2043.JPG Leo - Yes, I believe if I had gone with the opto-key kit originally it would have solved all of the problems. Looking forward to seeing how it works! Attached are the photos of the new case - this thing is really built like a tank! Total price with shipping was $363, and it only took a...

Re: Just bought a Model D on eBay...
Also, I'm curious about your calzone case. I built a case for mine from scratch in the 80s but that's vanished over the decades, so I need a new case. Can you share any info on that as well? Leo I purchased a Model D last year and inquired here about a professional quality road case to protect my i...

Re: Just bought a Model D on eBay...
Analog Lab was very receptive to my problem. They offered to pay for half of the opto-key kit, and install it for free. In the end, I decided I didn't want to send it back in hopes to do it myself, so I asked for a little more of a credit since they wouldn't be installing it. The shipping alone was...

Re: Just bought a Model D on eBay...
Just got an update from Analog Lab - they got everything working much better, had to cut open the pots the clean them which helped tremendously. They were having issues with the key contacts, and had to remove the board a second time and solder each and every contact. He said for some reason, the e...

connecting source to mini (or vice versa)...
encouraging news: took my source in to a shop close by me in northern nj, armed with thealien666's 2 cents on the problem, and things seem hopeful on that front, especially when the tech recognized mr. lightner's name in reference to all things moog. depending on his results, i may give him the mini...

Minimoog/Source techs in NY/NJ--who do you like?
hi all.. i'm the 2nd owner of a minimoog (#8871) and a source (#4336). here's the rundown: the source was a recent acquisition from a friend who bought it new, literally used on a couple gigs in the early 80's, didn't like it and put it back in the box. so it's all but brand new. i posted here last ...

Re: Advice on issue w Moog Source AND Technolog Transplant
Possibly a bad contact from the membrane button on the panel... Or it could also be a defective U18 chip. It is a CD4016 CMOS quad bilateral analog switch, found on the analog board, which can fail sometimes (not too often though). Nah, I would think that it's more of a panel membrane button proble...
