Re: Desktop version of the Sub Phatty?

And based on the prices of the Little and Slim the Sub module would be around the cost of the Minitaur. Perhaps that's another reason as well. Who would want to buy a Minitaur when a Sub module would be better? I say just want for the Sub Phatty used market to come into being, that's what I'm doing.

Re: Mono vs. Polyphonic

Walter/Wendy Carlos "Switched on Bach" comes to mind. I can't imagine how much work went into making that happen. Each type of synthesizer has their place in the world. Rather they be digital or analogue, polyphonic or monophonic. Use them all and you have all there is to be offered at you...

Happy Birthday Bob Moog!!!

Happy 79th birthday! It's hard to believe even now you're no longer with us. I still remember the day, my mom told me on the way home after picking me up from school. I actually cried, even then at age 13 I knew what the world had lost. I know I wish you were still here with us, what kind of marvelo...

Re: Question for Moog owners.

There's a reason that the DSI instruments are a lot cheaper than Moog instruments. You get what you pay for... Stephen I've heard good things about DSI build quality, and they're still made over here in the States. Though they do cut corners on some things like using external power supplies. I'm wa...

Re: Upgrading from OS to New School

The Andromeda was also cheaply made in Taiwan and full of bugs. I'll take the Voyager. :P

Re: Upgrading from OS to New School

I want the OS, but now they cost more than what they did new... This is about the same price (including shipping) I paid mine new (including sales tax) back in 2008 (sold it since). http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOOG-MINIMOOG-VOYAGER-Old-School-Synthesizer-O-S-/290919409067?pt=Keyboards_MIDI&h...

Re: Question for Moog owners.

Really wanting an actual synth. I had forgot about the filter box and all though... That's ok, trying to decide on what I need to do as far as my configuration goes. Too much stuff in one space. :P

I don't drink beer, I drink lager. Those require a church key. :P I like the smell of a well aged and seasoned rum too.

Re: Considering a Sub Phatty or a Mini Brute

SO - what exactly is your point, Portamental? I am really glad you like your SubPhatty and that you are impressed by Worrell or Wonder passing by the Moog booth at Namm. As the owner of 61 genuine Moog oscillators and writer of sound recording and DSP Software , my standards are a little bit differ...

Re: Question for Moog owners.

I really need to stop reading old articles on SoundOnSound and the internet in general. So after doing such I've added the Studio Electronics SE-1 and the Waldorf Pulse to the Sub and Little Phatty as possibilities. From what I've read the SE-1 would be the way to go as it has discrete oscillators, ...
