Re: SUB 37 STICKY MOD / PITCH WHEEL

This is a known problem with all modern Moog synthesizers. It happened since the Little Phatty. I had both a Sub Phatty and Little Phatty with this, and rubbing some alcohol on it removed the sticky layer of rubber, leaving a less refined touch plastic below it. It’s not the way to make it new again...

Re: Minimoog Voyager Mixer Out/In

Coming back here for some more information. Yesterday I almost got a guitar pedal to use with the effect loop, but decided to do some more research before jumping into the wrong device. The MXR GT OD seemed like a good option for a small amount of drive, but my impressions were based entirely on You...

Re: Minimoog Voyager Mixer Out/In

Thanks a lot for your inputs and tips! My initial thought was to get subtle overdrive, but maybe I’ll have to review my options. To do that I’d need an overdrive pedal, or even a Moogerfooger. The idea for the ring modulator was actually very good and probably the way I’d like to go - the only probl...

Minimoog Voyager Mixer Out/In

Hey guys, just wanted to talk about how you use this feature on the Minimoog Voyager. Recently discovered it, after the long and enjoyed honeymoon period, where sitting and just playing with it, PANEL MODE STYLE, was the most joyful thing, to actually starting digging at what it can do in terms of d...

Re: Simple DIY-fix to get a more open sound on your LITTLE PHATTY TRIBUTE EDITION

This is a "before" photo. Lifted one leg of the cap so it dont get lost if i change my mind :D After doing this, did you notice any distortion on the higher registers? Maybe it was done to limit noise on higher octaves. Might be a good idea on the future. I quite like the sound of the Pha...

Re: Voyager waveform pot/range calibration

Hi Igor- It could be that the potentiometer is degraded. In case you’re unfamiliar it’s the mechanism that the front panel knob turns providing a variable resistance based on its position. Being a mechanical device they are prone to wearing out over time. Is it possible for you to get hold of a mul...

Re: Voyager waveform pot/range calibration

Many reasons why I no longer fix things over the internet: http://www.analoguediehard.com/faq.html#want-free-repair-advice I wouldn’t even try to mess with anything inside it if I lived in a country where I could take it to an authorized service center. Unfortunately there’s none in Brazil. Electro...

Re: Voyager waveform pot/range calibration

In addition to marking the pot measure it's resistance with a multi meter if you have one (power off). This way you can return to the exact same value if need be. Like I said this will affect all waveforms. With a scope you can compare the 3 oscillators but if you don't have one just try very minim...

Re: Voyager waveform pot/range calibration

RP13 for Osc 1 (it should be labeled on the analog board). I don't claim to fully understand how the waveform circuit works but it appears to be the only trimmer in the waveform circuit area. Remember this will affect all of the waveforms, not just the square/pulse wave . Maybe best to confirm with...

Re: Voyager waveform pot/range calibration

Hi Igor- I don't believe there is anything "broken" with your Voyager. The pulse width/waveform is affected by several things and you should make sure that you do not have an unexpected modulation affecting Osc 1. This would include the Pedal and Mod Wheel buses. I assume you have nothing...

Voyager waveform pot/range calibration

Hey guys, I’m having some trouble with the osc1 waveform pot range. While the other two oscillators gives me a thin pulse wave, the osc1 wave pot have a full range, getting a 100% pulse width square (which is silent) around 90% travel. Is there a procedure to calibrate this or is it a problem/faulty...

Re: Share your synthesizer music!

Nicely done! :D What was the preset that you used for that piece? Thank you Greg! It’s a custom one, pretending to be a cello. The secret is to use not only the envelope for filter, but also for the waveform, controlled by velocity (shaping), it’s very subtle, but makes all the difference. Cheers!

Re: Share your synthesizer music!

Playing Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 - Prelude on a Minimoog Voyager.

Quite happy with this one. It’s a music that I love, but couldn’t ever play it because I’m not a cello player.

Re: I just bought a Tribute Edition

I think you were very lucky! To me, the Little Phatty is an incredible synth, and I can't be biased enough when I talk about it. Really, really love it. Made a simple video a week ago, showing some differences between Little and Sub Phatty. Maybe it will make you comfortable with your choice. Althou...
