Re: did Bob Moog have any involvement with the multimoog?
I think one of the claims that the Micro drives the filter hotter is actually in the Moog service manual. That is why it puzzles me. The schematics in the same manual don’t agree with this.
I do have two MultiMoogs :), so maybe I’ll get the opportunity to compare them all in the future.

Re: did Bob Moog have any involvement with the multimoog?
It was once claimed and often repeated that the Micro drives the filter harder than the Multi. However, I do not see that the circuit in the schematics supports this result. I remain skeptical until I find evidence via a direct shootout of the two, or some demonstration that the circuits actually ...

Re: Sub37 mod wheel pot replacement
I had my pitch bender fail and it wasn't possible to clean or restore. It's a special custom made pot with all its carbon contact range printed in a very small portion of the track. I'm not certain if there's anything special about the mod wheel in your case though. I tried emailing moog and was ...

Re: How to wire cable for CV control of Memorymoog pedal inputs?
Looking at the schematics, the jack is a TRS but it appears that the RING of the jack is only a "Foot Pedal Detection" sensor. So basically this senses if a TS cable is plugged in when the sleeve/ground touches the ring it pulls the 4503 hex buffer low on the digital board so it knows something is ...

Re: Opus 3 Issue
Divide down synths use release capacitors in the divider circuitry. Sometimes these can be caps that are prone to failure such as tantalum or electrolytic caps. This is where I'd look first, identify the exact notes in the circuit and then check the capacitors.

are you drawing the notes with 0 velocity?
Try doing a reset of global settings also.

Re: Opus 3 Strings not working
you can always check the solder under the connectors, I remember seeing an opus once which was missing strings because of a cold solder there. Otherwise, as usual it's a difficult to troubleshoot anything over the internet. Always best to take it to someone who can look at it if you are stuck.

A little tip if experiencing a distorted sound
Greetings, with such little info out there on the technical side of the moog guitar I thought I’d share something that’s recently solved an issue I was experiencing.
After bringing my E1 in for a setup, I noticed there was almost a fuzz sound in some of my strings. After getting in touch with moog ...

Re: E1 refret?
I had my frets plek'd, not once, but twice since I wasn't happy with the results. Either the plek operator had no clue what he was doing or something is up with my E1... it buzzes like crazy from the frets. Even after the second time it still buzzed bad. I almost wonder if I should just have the ...

Re: Memorymoog issue, no output, LEDs frozen after short/sli
Wait, the 4051's are supposed to be -15v? Are you sure? If you're reading -15v on all 4051's it sounds like S131 is plugged in backwards....
I remember working on a MM once that had a dead -15 rail, and the only thing it affected was the voices. The digital side all worked..

Re: Moog One FEATURE Requests
It would be nice to have a release stage added to the aftertouch. The problem with aftertouch is always that key pressure off is always too abrupt, would be nice to have a smoothing feature so the signal fades back to 0 AT.

POLYPHONY SECTION BUGS
POLY COUNT and STEALING MODEs are very bugged.
When setting Poly Count to an arbitrary number and the sound is saved, ie. 4 voices, changing the sound back to "AVAILABLE VOICES" will stay at the last amount of voices saved into the patch, ie. 4.

Re: BUG - high note priority
I see... tried googling it but couldn't find anything about it but a search here with some digging I found someone else reporting it.
Hard to believe they haven't done much about it, at this point I doubt they'd ever fix it since it's probably too old to bother and not many seem to care. Oh well ...
