This is perhaps the most interesting and creative introduction in any forum I've ever been to.
Congrats on joining the family!

Re: buzzing hum - usb to mac
I had the same problem as you for the longest time. I can't tell if its the Macbook or my Phatty that's causing it, but connecting to it via USB will cause a hum to come out of the Phatty's output. The only advice I can offer is to switch to a standard MIDI/DIN plug: http://www.cnccookbook.com/img/O...

Re: How do you pronounce "Moog" and "MoogerFooger
I can at least feel better admitting I have never used the term "notch pass" until this very sentence. I get suprised with it by experts every now and then: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9axChfTqFWM @ 5:44, 6:08, and 8:37 Just an FYI, but Band-Pass Filter is the correct term for it. @6:0...

My latest purchase.
Its polyphony compliments my Phatty very nicely.

Re: just a question
You're right, my LP's filter overload never gets to the point of self-oscillation. Thanks for sharing the info.

Re: just a question
And just like that, the thread was done before it even started .
Serious question: How similar are the 2 overdrive methods? Is the Phatty knob based off of this Voyager design or do they process the signal differently?

Re: just a question
Semi-related. I recently had the chance to try out a Voyager for the first time at my local pro audio store. I was super stoked to get my hands on it; and while it did greatly impress me with its sonic character and modulation possibilities, i found myself really missing the filter overdrive. I kept...

Re: Voyager praises here! Motivational thread.
I don't own a Voyager, but I can share some insight with you: People (on the internet) love to criticize others. When i was in your position (but for a Little Phatty), I kept looking at reviews and opinions and most of them were just people complaining that it didn't sound like a voyager (or a Model...

Re: Monitors . . . .
I use Yamaha HS50's and they work great! +1 for the HS50M's. They work great for me. Between them and my Sennheiser headphones, my mixes translate very well to other systems. I chose monitors over an amp because I needed to be able to mix songs and also hear my other instruments when I'm writing. I...

Re: A humble perspective . . .
This is a very inspirational post. Even though i'm just a lowly college student, i had to get my hands on something Moog. It took me a while to save up enough, but i couldn't be happier with my Little Phatty. Something i always find a little funny: I will occasionally get called out by friends for s...

Re: No modulation
I'm not sure if it's the same on SP's; but on my LP, the mod wheel has to be up before any modulation can be heard. I think this also applies if you are controlling it directly from your computer (no keyboard controller).

Re: Owner of a LP
Just thought i would stop by and share a couple of my pennys with you folks. Maybe this will help others who come here looking to see if they should make the investment. 1. The build quality is great. Everything on my Little Phatty feels solid. The knobs could use a little extra reinforcement, but i...
