Re: What do you store in the back of your Voyager?
Patch cables, the ends of the 2 long MIDI cables I have running across the room to my computer, the end of the USB extender that I have connected to the computer across the room, a splitter cable for the Voyager's FX insert. Some comic books.

Re: CV / Gate connections
When I connect my Voyager to other gear with mini jack CV (Doepfer Dark Time, Korg Monotribe) I just use standard 1/8" patch cables with a 1/4" male - 1/8" female adapter. Like what you would use for headphones.
Works for me.

Re: Voyager XL consistently slightly out of tune
Don't feel bad, I wasted a whole jam session dinking around with my new synthesizer which I obviously did not know how to play. I never got it in tune until afterwards. Not my finest musician moment. I'm not sure if 12:00 is always supposed to be in tune, it might vary by preset. Which would explain...

Re: Voyager XL consistently slightly out of tune
Hey! I had a similar problem, but it was my own fault. Hopefully your solution is the same as mine. The fine tune knob? First jam session I had with a friend, I was kind of freaking out because I couldn't get the XL in tune with the guitar. We spent quite a while going through the manual and trying ...

Re: New XL owner
Congrats and welcome to the forum :) I sometimes use the LFO square out of teh VX351 to drive the EHX 8 step and the voyager GATE input at the same time.... while the 8 step drive the pitch or whatever. Worth trying while playing in standalone ;) That sounds kind of awesome. Now I can't wait to get...

Re: New XL owner
Ah, I missed that part. Yeah, I guess the 8-Step would be pretty weak in comparison.

Re: New XL owner
Sweeeet! I've had pretty good results pairing the XL with the EHX 8-Step. It doesn't have trigger/gate out, so you can't fully sequence the XL with it, but if you're using a MIDI sequencer, you can sync the 8-step with MIDI and do some pretty cool CV sequencing in time with MIDI, or just use it asyn...

Re: XL LFO 2 rate modulation question.
Check out the manual addendum published for LFO2, which is here: http://www.moogmusic.com/sites/default/files/xl_man_add__lfo2_midi.pdf In it, they explain that the input range for LFO2 ext CV rate is 0v to 5v, and that it is additive to the LFO2 rate panel control. So basically, yes. You're right. ...

Re: Wood damaged, which varnish?
For what it's worth, I think the scrape looks pretty cool. That's a synth that's been places and seen things.

Re: Wood damaged, which varnish?
It looks and feels like an oil finish to me. I would recommend something other than Tung oil. In my experience, Tung oil takes a very long time to cure. Danish oil is what I prefer for oil finishes. Though either one will get you there.

Re: Free gift from Moog?
Take a bit of string (I used some thin wire) and slide it back behind the knob and pull straight out. It popped right off for me.

You should just watch Ebay, which is a place where people go to sell things.
