Re: Hard sync and evelope help

I'm glad it helped :) Before answering about that mysterious EG AMT knob, let me try something to unveil the modulation sections secrets to you. In a nutshell, a sound is defined by a pitch (i.e. the note), a timbre (i.e. the character of it) and an amplitude (i.e. the volume). In a nutshell, your f...

Re: Hard sync and evelope help

HI and welcome! That's how you've been told. Here is a way for you to undestand it. Set up the synth as you did previsouly, and play with oscillator 2 frequency knob (you can try various octaves settings). This is when frequency is modultated that you get that sound. Now, in order to have the freque...

Re: Voyager sticky first key

Hi! I've had the opportunity to unmount a Voyager keybed lately. The (10) screws that hold it on the synth bottom plate can be tighten with the keybed 1-2mm more on the left or the right. The first time I put the screws back, I had a squeaky first key. I untightened/retightened maintaining the keybe...

Re: Filter Bank Comparison/Substitution

Funny: I realized just yesterday that the MuRF might be kind of a filter bank module... Well, written like that it seems stupid :D
Thanks for sharing! The absence of LPF/HPF on the MuRF makes it more middy, more on the LoFi side, which is not a bad thing. It has a different character.

Re: Replacement for Moog Voyager

Was not sure whether you were talking mostly about sound, you are :) About the Sub series, here is something interesting, I guess: their mixer is such as when the knob is after noon, it will start to distort. That means that keeping levels low leads to a different family of sounds, maybe closer to t...

Re: Replacement for Moog Voyager

Well, I would say: don't believe the online conversations and demos. If you want to use the Matriarch as a Voyager, it certainly will fulfill you expectations. As far as sound, I haven't heard one but it seems it sounds as a Moog should sound. On a side note, the Subsequent 37 is also a good candida...

Re: Table or Stand for Minimoog

+1 for the K&M 18950 and its extension. It's not the cheapest but definitely a good one. I have a couple of them and a 18953: the later is less adapted as it is less deep, hence having the upper keyboard (if it's heavy, say over 10-12kg) dangerously moving the balance towards the audience.

Hi Scott, welcome to the forum!

I don't have any Taurus but it seems the presets were saved with minimum volume. You may want to try saving them again with the right setting.

Re: Minitaur as an external filter

Please excuse me if I state the obvious here. You actually don't need the drone mode, you just need to have the amp envelope opened: when using the Minitaur as a filter for external signal, the input signal is just like an oscillator. Hence the sound won't pass through if you don't open the envelope...

Re: Minitaur as an external filter

Not sure to understand your routing, but have you triggered a continuous gate ON for opening the envelopes? I think there is even a drone mode. Don't have a Minitaur, though...
