Re: nord lead 2x through mf101?

The Doepfer Dark Energy has a filter similar to what can be heard on the Nord instruments. The Moog Little Phatty has more juice, it takes more "space" while being less agressive. The DSI Evolver filter is in between, to my ears at least. It's true the P08 has only two patches layered. How...

Re: Looking for a Pad/String synth

No, it isn't any VST. It is a hybrid modular synth. Modular , I guess you know. But why hybrid ? The patching is performed through a software editor, as well as the panel buttons assignments andsome others functions. That's where you need a computer. However the editor alone is not producing any sou...

Re: Looking for a Pad/String synth

The Nord Wave has more possibilities in terms of "sample synthesis", if I dare, while the Lead are more about pure substractive plus a bit of FM/RM. Oh... the Nord Lead 3 is much more powerful than the 2X, with another character (I've read so, at least). The Nord Wave has onboard effects, ...

Re: Looking for a Pad/String synth

Nord and Prophet 08 are indeed good candidates to me.
Kurzwel, for having payed some for years, can soud great. BUT they are a pita to program: far from your knobby synths.

I find the Nord Lead and Little Phatty to go very well together sounwise.

But don't tell Mr Rabalder ;)

Re: LP/SP Frequency Range ? Avoid damaging speaker tips

Oh, and as for stupid questions, in my opinion there's no such thing. Unless you already know the answers to them. After all, asking questions is the key to knowledge. It's always better ask what you think might be a stupid question rather than stay in the dark about something. Amen to that :)

Re: The Analogue Bandwagon

Indeed only one oscillator but many waveshapes: they chose to have the opportunity to get a personal raw material to sculpt with the filter. This is a Steiner-Parker filter, multimode and sounds good. It results in a kind of modern Roland SH. interesting. About the Arturia's products path, one of th...

Re: holding a note, play another up but not down.

This is a common parameter on monophonic synths: note priority. As you can press several keys at a time and the synth can play only one note, you have to tell it which key is relevant. The usual values are: - Low key priority: the lowest key pressed will play the note - High key priority: the highes...
