Re: RIP Kevin Lightner/Synthfool

Thia ia very sad news. Kevin refurbished/restored my ARP Odyssey a few years ago. I felt very lucky that he'd accept the job as he was having health issues at the time. He was wonderful to deal with the entire time he was working on the synth. Very detailed, full of ideas and suggestions, sent pics ...

Re: FYI...

Kevin, thank you so much for the excellent restoration work you did for my Odyssey a couple years ago. So sorry to hear this - your service and expertise will be greatly missed. Hoping the best for for you!

Re: Rick Wakeman live from '75

I listened to Close To The Edge so much that I had to purchase a second one as a back up. The three Prog Rock standards are Selling England by the Pound by Genesis, Trilogy by ELP and of course Close to the Edge by Yes.......... IMHO. It all probably started with, In the Court of the Crimson King b...

Re: Rick Wakeman live from '75

Kevin - thanks for the link! Haven't watched it yet but will soon. One thing I never cared for on the album was the vocalists.

"Six Wives" and "Switched on Bach" changed my life back in the day!

Re: Pining for a MiniBrute

I think my cons list is the way it is because for the past 11 months, my only synth has been the Voyager, which isn't really fair to compare with the Minibrute, build-quality wise- sure the Minibrute's built well, but I wouldn't say it's industrial-strength, which is how the hardware feels on the M...

Re: Pining for a MiniBrute

I have one Kenneth- Here's my pros and cons list, but of course, this is just MY take on this instrument- another owner could have an opposite opinion, so I'd trust your OWN ears more than anyone else's... ANYway: pros: warms up quickly easy to haul around, and doesn't take up much stage space for ...

Re: Should I get a CP-251?

I have an EV-5 foot controller and it does work with the CP-251, but it has been some time since I've used it so I can't give you anything more than that. You will need TRS cables for mutlislot patches though, something to do with a + and - voltage send: there is more detail on this in the CP-251 m...

Re: Should I get a CP-251?

Hey, thanks for the info., but the Roland site, nor the manual doesn't mention anything about connecting to a CV device. Don't think much of the pedal but I have it here....just wondering?

Re: Should I get a CP-251?

Thanks everyone for the replies! I thought maybe starting a new thread about this, but anyway, I've got a extra Roland EV-5 pedal that I don't use at the moment. Is it compatible to use with the CP-251? I've searched and there is an old thread about this question was never answered. Anyone use the E...

Re: Should I get a CP-251?

I have to admit I need another one. I'm sure that there isn't anything like CP for it's price and size. It is essential tool for CV. I was searching for something like it, just to have something else, but there is no thing like CP. I use it with my foogers, slim phatty, prodigy and MP-201. I just w...

Re: Should I get a CP-251?

My only qualification is that it is a PITA to go from 1/"4 to 1/8" and back again, and if you find a good source of ready made patch leads with one type on each end, let me know? Roy. These cables would appear to work better than adapters - could get expensive depending on how many you ne...

Re: Should I get a CP-251?

Yes indeed. I use mine with a Dark Energy, a patch panel SEM and a couple of mooger foogers, it adds so much to the CV world. My only qualification is that it is a PITA to go from 1/"4 to 1/8" and back again, and if you find a good source of ready made patch leads with one type on each en...

Thanks for your feedback. I know it was a sort of "open-ended" question.
Do you use yours with something other than Moogerfoogers or LP/SP?

Thanks! :)
