1. What is this whichcraft of the mod section? If you hold certain buttons and turn, they do something, and they also do something when neither is pressed, and somehow you can tap the LFO. What are these parameters? Especially holding down "amount".
2. Are there any other hidden features?

There's a MIDI filter in logic that should help you. I forget what it's under, but you can set it so that logic doesn't receive parameters form a device, and it'll stop all that nonsense. I've had that problem with other synths before.
