Re: Sub 37 feature suggestions - firmware updates

Oh, now that's cool! No idea how I missed that thread. Just like Dan was saying, one of the main reasons for wanting this is so one can program the 37 in low light or darkness. I'm gonna try to get some of that gel!

Still interested in a brightness control via firmware update, though!

Re: Sub 37 feature suggestions - firmware updates

I don't see this suggested so far - apologies if I overlooked it...

I was wondering whether it's possible via firmware to add a control to the 37's LCD backlight brighness...? That thing is retina-searing!!!

Re: little phatty poly chain LFO sync issues

I have nothing accessible to poly chain it to... :(

I moved back to the states and since I'm in a temporary spot, most of my stuff is packed away. I have the Sub 37 only because it came out after I moved back. (I have a Prophet '08 rackmount but we're talking about sweet Moog-on-Moog action, here...)

Re: little phatty poly chain LFO sync issues

It's been so long honestly I don't remember what all I tried. Everything except for my 37 is all packed away right now or I'd check.

Re: Anyone else brick their Sub37 with firmware 1.0.2?

FIXED . . . I noticed mmarsh100's comment about reducing xmission speed to 47% (37 + 10...makes total sense, lol) and so I did the same. Then in step 3, the MIDI actually flashed red the whole time and it rebooted when finished. LONGEST 789.7 KB TRANSMISSION EVAAAAAAR... Thanks Amos for postin...

Re: Anyone else brick their Sub37 with firmware 1.0.2?

Hmm...still no luck. I d/l'd the new SysEx Librarian and used the settings Dan suggested. Point of failure seems to be step 3 in Amos' instructions above (sending the panel file). Every time I do this step, both the MIDI and the arp LEDs are on with no blinking. When the file completes the send, the...

Re: Anyone else brick their Sub37 with firmware 1.0.2?

Hey - thanks, but don't worry about it...it's not responding to anything now. C6 only recognizes it intermittently, and I can no longer get the MIDI to flash red when I send the panel SysEx, which according to the update instructions, means the 37 is not receiving data. Before I try to "f...

Re: Anyone else brick their Sub37 with firmware 1.0.2?

Thanks, Joe. I appreciate that. One question before I have to go bugging you or anyone else via a phone call - when you did the "panel erase", was it instantaneous? It takes almost no time at all, compared to sending the other two files. Intuitively, this makes sense to me if all it's doin...

Anyone else brick their Sub37 with firmware 1.0.2?

I followed the instructions to a tee and after the first attempt, found my 37 stuck with the "blank screen and LEDs on" mentioned in the instructions. So, I tried to start at "Panel firmware update" and go from there. I noticed that when sending this (the erase) SysEx via c6, it'...

Sub 37 Poly note assignment

A behavior I recall from the Slim/Little Phatty firmware was that the note assignments in Poly mode were 'round robin'. By that I mean that if you had it set up for 3 voice polyphony and you were playing a monophonic sequence, the notes would be assigned to Phatty 1 >> Phatty 2 >> Phatty 3 >> Phatty...

Re: Gap on the left side of the control panel

I wonder whether there's a way to add an option in a future firmware version to turn off the screen backlighting. That would at least stop the light "bleed" through that gap and some of the surrounding light pipes for the arpeggiator. Also, I think it would look better without the bluish l...

Re: Sub 37 3' setting?

Pretty sure it's just the way the poles/decks are on the rotary switch that in between, they fall back to the 16' setting. It's the same on my Voyager, as I recall.
