A model D question:
Which of the gold plated springs are for gate, and which are for pitch, those one or two bars?
I've been told the springs between the double bars are for pitch, but all the problems turning up when I adjust them suggest it's the other way around.

Re: Model D, Key problem
It´s time to do something about the gold plated springs now, after having battled with the bushings the last weekend. Before I do anything stupid and irrevocable, do I remove the circuit board by just pulling the rubber cones up? I´ve already done one stupid thing, when I changed all the bushings. I...

Re: Key issue, bushings?
I prefer the monophonic version, without a doubt.
New bushings, along with some contact springs, are on the way.

Re: Key issue, bushings?
Took a look at the keybed yesterday, and half of the mentioned C key bushing still stuck to its place. The rest was small bits and pieces. So, new bushings are ordered, but the duophonic behaviour mystery remains.

Re: Key issue, bushings?
As far as I remember it, that C sounded constantly, even when other keys were played. Weird and impossible, I suppose, but that went on for just a short while.

Re: Key issue, bushings?
Thanks for answering. I'm guessing the bushing got stuck somehow. Owned it since 2001, so it's about time I take proper look in there anyway, perhaps exchange some of the worst springs as well.

Key issue, bushings?
Suddenly a tone got stuck on my model D. If I remember correctly, it kept on going simultaneously with tones played. With no idea what to do, I moved the Minimoog a bit, like shaking it sideways very little. The tone stopped, but the upper most C key popped up, about 1/4 inch. I could, of coarse, op...

Re: Model D, Key problem
Thanks a lot for your answer. Yes, it´s a version 3 model D. Ser. nr. 10XXX something. I´ve had since 2001, I think, a little more than 20 years, and I´ve only opened up the keyboard part once. I messed around with some of the springs, and I´m afraid I didn´t know back then what I was doing. I´m goi...

Model D, Key problem
I have a problem with a few keys, and I was sure it relates to the pitch springs. Typically, the keys trigger and the pitch just runs upwards. Pushing a bit more, the pitch goes where it´s supposed to. I, and I assume many of you as well, then´ll say, clean the springs, or replace them. The thing is...

Model D board maintenance
Not often I remove the boards on my model D (ser.nr. 11966), but I have to change glide potentiometer, and there isn´t much space to do it with the boards in place. So, while I have two boards removed, should I clean the contacts or anything? If so, what should I use to do that?

Re: The Manfred Mann Minimoog/Oberheim SEM combo
Well, you get the fat, but also the LFO modulation. That would be my reason, if I somehow could install a fourth oscillator.

Re: The Manfred Mann Minimoog/Oberheim SEM combo
My Minimoog is absolutely fat enough, but since Mr Mann did it... Anyway, thanks for the information. My line is drawn at drilling holes in vintage stuff, so this won´t happen. Me and my quite-fat-enough Mini will satisfy ourselves when springs are installed for the pitch bend. After that, there´ll ...

The Manfred Mann Minimoog/Oberheim SEM combo
Hi! I just wonder if someone has info. on how Manfred Mann used the Oberheim SEM with his Minimoog. Two extra oscillators for fatter sound, or did he alternate between the two sound generators? I´ve never heard/red much about it. I´m also a bit curious about how they were patched together, especiall...

You´re right, I didn´t see that. I´m sorry, and thanks for the answer in that thread.

The glide potentiometer
Hi!
I´ve been trying to get in touch with Cae sound, to check if their 5k linear potentiometer can be used for the model D glide (http://www.caesound.net/minimoogcontrolpots.aspx). No answer so far.
Can you tell me if it´s the right potentiometer, or perhaps tell me where I can find one?
