Re: Individual Modules
Hi ProspectHillMusic, in recent years, I have built a clone of the System 55; I never presented it publicly, as I made it just for my own fun. The modules I made are pretty accurate Moog clones, both aesthetically and functionally. I have some modules that I don’t use, or I want to replace with othe...

Re: Hi all...Help on 921 tempco
Hi, the tempco used for the 921 are 1k±3% TC. In the original Moog construction they used Tel Labs Q81, which nowadays are quite hard to find. I purchased mines from Synth Cube some years ago; don't remember the exact part number. According to the original Moog 921 construction, the TC is mounted un...

Re: Firth Of Fifth Genesis
Hi all, I have an ARP Pro DGX, which I used to use for performing the FoF solo. The preset voice I used is the Trumpet, that Tony Banks appears to have used in live situations, at least in the early period. The synth solo of the original studio recording is more complex, impossible to be replicated ...

Re: Moog Model 10 > Kenton Pro-2000 > MIDI keyboard
Am I right in thinking that the CP11 Controller Outputs section convert V-Trig signals (Control Voltage) to S-Trig signals (Trigger) via the front panel connectors? I don't know exactly how the CP11 works; anyway, those lines should work like the CP2A, that is, CV lines are connected to the CV line...

Re: Slowing down 911 eg ..possible ?
You may try by raising the value of the pots, or add resistors in series to them. This should lower the currents that charge (T1) / discharge (T2, T3) C1, then slowing the timings.
I am working around a clone of the 911, but at present I have no working 911 to test with.

Re: 921b sync clone
I can definitely confirm that pin 10 is connected to -6; the track from pin 10 of 796 connects R36 and R37, and then continues to the collector of Q5 and to the trimmer R30. It is connected to the -6 line by way of other tracks on the components side. I have reconstructed the original pcb layout som...

Re: System 55 Restoration
Hi Dave, thank you for your wonderful report about System 55, and also for the previous one. The information you supply are unvaluable, specially for modular cloners. I have just a question for you, if I may. I noticed that the page on the 921B shows a picture of the component side of the 921A where...

Re: Moog 960 Pictures
I have collected a few photos of the 960 from the internet in the past months. They mostly show the component side and are not sufficient for redesign the PCBs exactly; maybe you already found them as well. If you think this could be of some help, I will be happy to share. Greetings from unusually s...

Re: Moog 55 DIY
Hi all, and thank you very much, Carsten, for sharing data about the cabinet. I have redrawn my design so now I'm ready to complete it. It's nice to hear that someone else is bringing forth the same project. I hope some collaboration will be possible in the future. David wrote: >My feeling is that i...

Re: Moog 55 DIY
Thank you dlmorley and nicholas d. kent for your replies. I know it is a lot of work. I browsed most (perhaps all) of the possible alternative options available on the web. Not that I reputed them of less value; but the 55 is a dream of a lifetime for me. In the end, I decided to try to build a repl...
