Re: Wooden end pieces for Grandmother?

Hey people - I've got my cnc machine programmed to make panels - both for the MG-1 / Rogue and the GM / Matriarch. The MG-1 panels I made a few years back were well received but were too much trouble to make. The new design will produce a more precise and consistent product that I can actually make ...

Re: Share your synthesizer music!

Gadz! It's been almost 40 years ago Dan and I started marketing sequence data to lounge bands - we were the first to advertise in Electronic Musician and Keyboard magazine in fact. Here is a promo piece we put together to showcase the potential of sequencing synthesizers. For those who care - the he...

After market wood cabinet parts

Talking with Nick Montoya today the subject of custom synth wood working came up. I made and sold a modest number of panels for the MG-1 and Rogue some years ago. They were well received but the fabrication process was tedious and problematic. I'm now seriously into my Laguna CNC router and consider...

Re: The illusive µ726C transistor array

My synth tech has some, how many do you need ? The original moog parts has FUA 726HC 7822 printed on them. I'd like to have a couple of known good new parts in stock for future use, and I may need one for the project on the bench right now. I haven't needed one of these for years, so it's not like ...

Re: The illusive µ726C transistor array

I just discovered that most of my problem locating info was that I was using the correct(?) character Greek letter mu (µ) instead of u in the search string. Still - seems like a search for 726C without any prefix would have resulted in a clue, but apparently did not. The only place I see these for s...

The illusive µ726C transistor array

Moog Sonic 6 uses a µ726C transistor array in the exponential converter circuit. Also used in the redesigned Mini VCO circuit. I have one used one in my parts drawer so I know they used to be available from somewhere. Senso does not list it @ Vintage Planet, and no search string of any sort turned u...

Re: Rogue and MG-1 end panel replacements

Responding to requests for Black Walnut heartwood / sapwood mix end panels I have selected some stock specifically for this application. My favorite is pictured below. I left a bit of the band saw teeth marks along the bottom edge to add to the character and drastic color variations intrigue me. htt...

Re: Concertmate MG-1 won't power up

Drastic noise as you described could have been an op amp that then gave up and shorted out. I've seen them get hot enough internally when this happens to blow out a piece of the DIP case and emit a puff of smoke. Tek Tip: The smell is distinctive and with practice you can smell the difference betwee...

More Black Walnut came out of the drying room on Saturday. I made more Rogue / MG-1 end panels. Here is one example. Image

Re: ARP Quadra service notes

Wow - thanks guys. I did not even look outside my own files for a service manual as I knew I should have one if they published it. Perhaps I should look further in my archives. I stopped looking when I came to my file folder from ARP school with the schematics. Those schematics were all I ever neede...

ARP Quadra service notes

In 1978 I attended factory training for ARP instruments. Back in those days ARP, SCI and Moog invested in training service technicians. In this case it was an all expenses paid trip to Denver for a week of classroom sessions. The Quadra was introduced that year and we were issued a preliminary set o...

Re: Repairing my Polymoog

I got some Polycom chips from Don Besecker, thanks. Still haven't figured out what happened to my Direct signal... Sounds like you are a pretty serious about getting your head under the hood of this box. So do you have a scope? If this was on my bench for a reported problem of no direct output, the...
