Re: 1976 Minimoog Unstable Oscillator 1

Thanks for the reply. I replaced the caps over 10 years ago. This problem didn't start occurring until recently. I have always serviced my own equipment. I own many vintage synthesizers. I don't really want to bring it to a service tech. I was just hoping that someone could point me towards what som...

1976 Minimoog Unstable Oscillator 1

Hi, I'm struggling with determining what's wrong with my minimoog. I have a 1976 Minimoog that works perfectly for 20 minutes. but after it warms up oscillator 1 starts to have erratic changes to it's pitch. The issue only affects oscillator 1. A video of the issue is linked at the bottom of this po...

Where to buy a Minimoog D Nameplate Badge

I see on ebay that some place is selling the repros. of the entire front faceplate and both small minimoog badges. I called them and they said they can't sell the small badges separately. That leads me to believe they have some other supplier for these exact kits. Anyway, does anyone know where to b...

Re: Satin or Semi Gloss Finish for Minimoog????

That cabinet is nice. Its the same color as my Moog Prodigy. Here are the before and after pics of the staining and satin finish. I kinda don't like that big eye of the wood right in the center of the mini, it looks nice, but doesn't look mini-ish to me. and I kinda miss the old rugged look. Serial ...

Re: Please help me with my Minimoog. I've done all that I c

Thats incredibly awesome. Thanks for the tip! I have be re-realizing how awesome the internet is, now that I have been able to buy an original new-old-stock full set of minimoog keys, a full set of new knobs, and now the original capacitors for my minimoog all this week. ...Oh yeah, and I was easily...

Re: Please help me with my Minimoog. I've done all that I c

Thanks. I couldnt find a color converter with yellow as the third band! Soooo, is that a poylester film cap. Thats my assumption. But I am not positive. Here are my choices. NOTE: The polyester cap only has a 50v rating but the metal film cap has a 250v rating just as the one in the mini. But still,...

Re: Satin or Semi Gloss Finish for Minimoog????

Thanks. Im really impatient so I just went ahead and used the satin. Its what I had and I tested it out first and it looked like I would think it should. It looks great. Re: Please help me with my Minimoog. I've done all that I c

I have done this. The question is... are these voltages good enough? When calibrating the thing I got 10.00 and 10.03 for the two voltages. I was using a Fluke 87 that is accurate. I assume the 10.03 is good enough. I didn't want to touch the trim pot in fear of not being able to get it any closer t...

Re: Satin or Semi Gloss Finish for Minimoog????

Woooooww, those are pretty. I think the satin will look more like an original 1974 finish. Idk. I tested the satin on the bottom of the wood case and it looks great but still, my goal is to make it look like it used to so I want the original finish style. Any more opinions?

Satin or Semi Gloss Finish for Minimoog????

I am refinishing my minimoog because i bought it when it was half sanded down already (or the finish was half worn off). I bought satin polyeurathane but I am doubting that that was the right choice. After looking at more pictures online, I am thinking that I may be better off with a semi-gloss if I...

I am a Hammond organ tech and I also do my own work on my Clavinet, Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Arp Omni, Moog Prodigy, Micromoog, Roland Juno, etc. etc. etc. Sooo, I am the tech. I have tried shorting out the resistor that MC was talking about. Its not on the powersupply board though, and it didnt help my p...

Re: Please help me with my Minimoog. I've done all that I c

Hmmmm, you make it sound like the spread out pins are the most common cause of the oscillator bleed. I have already cleaned all the contacts and visually checked all the ....ummmm .....pin grabber thingys. They didn't look spread out. Its good to know that it is most likely the power supply contacts...

Please help me with my Minimoog. I've done all that I can!

I have bad oscillator bleeding problems. Since my last post about this, I have calibrated the synth, performed the moog recommend way to get rid of bleeding (replace resistor with jumper wire), cleaned all board contacts, checked all connections and solder points everywhere, and I have tried running...
